Bloody Magnolias

Prologue

At first there was one deity. An old one to be exact.

The old deity was so old that it was tired for its life not having any purposes other than floating in an endless void.

So the deity decided that it will be over and separated itself into two different gods.

The god of light and the god of darkness.

The two gods fought everyday for simplest reasons like. Looking at the other one funny or steeping in each other's half of the void.

Then one day they were so fed up with each other that both wanted to seal the other one away and so another fight started and both deities lunged at each other. When they both touched each other there was an explosion of light. The god of light had won that fight and sealed the other god successfully, but unfortunately the other one got a hold of a bit of god's of lights energy so it was unknown when the darkness would return.
"At least I will have some peace now" thought the deity of life, but when he turned his head he noticed something new in the void. A weird ball that turned out to be a planet. God of light was fascinated by the little ball so he decided to check it out and noticed that it was freezing cold so he made with his powers a sun, and then the moon. Then he was a bit sad that it hadn't had any friends so he made other planets and made stars.

Years passed and the god noticed new things happening on the planet so he decided to check them out. He had officially abandoned his true form and turned into a smaller one still resembling his old one. He found that there was life. Many new creatures to cherish and many things that he hasn't seen in the void. But he still had to remember that he had a sealed god with him so he decided to make a suitable prison for them. He decided to make it on a big clearing. But he thought that it would be too easy to escape so he created 5 keys that needed to be inserted first before opening the prison. But he didn't had any place to hide them so he decided to make them alive and call them guardians. First key he had put in a pure lake, the next one in a burning tree, the third one in the ground, the fourth on in a tornado and the last one in the time itself. The five keys began to form humanoid forms and came to life, their only mission was to guard their lives (keys) and mortals from doing anything stupid. The young guards were curious of the world before them and befriended many mortal beings. They also noticed that some of those mortals had a weird sense of deciding where to live so they decided to give them blessings so they wouldn't die easily. Those blessings were animal like features. For example some mortals had grown wings, other fish tails or even animal ears and tails.

After seeing that everything was going good the god of light abandoned his old title and became the god of life.

But of course the story wouldn't be fun without something going wrong. Well a small bit of god's of darkness energy had broken out of the prison with help of the old god's of life energy.
It was a bit confused about the world around it but then suddenly it had fallen in love with a mortal man. Unfortunately the man already had a fiancée so filled with jealousy it decided to end the girl's life. At first it had appeared in her dreams showing her disturbing things. Then at day it kept haunting her pretending to be voices in the girl's head telling her to end it all. Until it was too much and she had stabbed herself in the stomach at night. The god of darkness had watched the girl's white dress become bloody red as she lost her consciousness it took it's chance and possessed the girl's body as if it was it's own.

The impostor started dating the woman's old fiance pretending to be her until one day someone told him that something was wrong with the girl. That she was acting much different lately, he of course blinded with love was ignoring that but after time he himself noticed that something was wrong. Like loss with appetite, different personality etc. So he was fed up with it and took a small dagger with him in case he had to confront her in other way than words. He invited her to his old lover's favourite waterfall and it had confirmed his suspicion. The woman before him acted like she didn't know that place so he attacked her and asked where his old fiancée was. But the woman just laughed and acted like she had no clue but he knew. Oh he knew that she wasn't the one that she tried to pretend to be so he had stabbed her over and over again. But that didn't seem to work. She just stared at him the whole time in silence and before he could notice he was pinned to the ground. "Those pesky villagers had told you? Right? Oh I should have gotten rid of them long time ago." She said and pushed him away before sprinting into the direction of the village. The man was confused by the strength and speed of her and ran after her. But when he arrived it was too late. The whole village was in flames, villagers hadn't any time to escape their burning houses. He could only watch while she smiled before grabbing him and taking the man into a dungeon where his screams can be heard to this day. The end.

Said a woman while closing an old story book.
"Mommm but you missed one part!"
Said a young boy no older than 5.

"Oh? Which one?"
Asked his mother with a gentle smile on her face

"The one where the god of life had planted flowers over the prison and they turned out to have healing powers!"
Said the child with a slightly annoyed tone.

"Oh right."
Said the mother before opening her book again.

"And so the god of life planted a tree over the prison and a bunch of magnolias that he had gotten from the mortals. After some time he noticed that injured animals often came to the magnolias to drink a weird liquid that looked like blood. It turned out that the liquid had healing effects and could even heal things that couldn't be healed by any medicine or even regrow missing parts. Okay now go to sleep Suzu, your friend will come over tomorrow"
Said the woman closing the book again and then turning off the light.
