2:48 a.m.

That's when I feel asleep that night.

2:49 a.m.

That's when I woke up.

I've only been sea sick once before in my life. I was on a small vacation my immediate family and some cousins. I was only about three at the time and my uncle decided to take us all on a boat ride across the lake. My mom, who was pregnant at the time, thought it would be to dangerous for me, but my dad figured it would be something new, and exciting for me to experience. Lets just say, I never got across that lake. Ever sense I've avoided boats completely, but that wasn't ever a problem until tonight.

I slowly turned over, being careful not to wake up Isabella, and creped across the room, unlocked the door and ran . Eventually I stopped, realizing that I had no idea where I was, or where I was going. "Shit" I whispered.

Looking around I see that I have made it to the lobby. I stare out the window into the never-ending sea. My phone lights up. Message from Leah. Why is she texting me now?

"Lost?" Someone says from behind me.

I turn around to see a boy, near my age. "Oh no, just couldn't sleep."

"Nervous for your first day?" He walks over. "I'm Marcus."

"Maddie" I say "I don't really know what I'm doing, if I'm being honest."

"I get it." He has light brown hair and green eyes. "Im guessing this is your first year?"

"Yup, Freshmen" I smile awkwardly.

"No way! So am I. Maybe I'll see you around."

"Yea, that'd be cool."

"Here" He hands me a bisness card with his name and number on it. "I've lived on this boat for 9 years of my life, if you need anything, I can probably help you."

"A bisness card? Really?" I say "Sorry I didn't mean that."

"No I'll admit im tacky, but your the first person i've needed to give one to."

I laugh " God your a dork."

"Look who's talking, miss Pokémon pajama pants."

"Well played." I say "How come your out here?"

"Like you, just talking a walk."

"Oh, well I should probably get back, big day tomorrow."

"Yup, great meeting you."

"You too."

I walk back to my room thinking about what just happened. I completely forgo that Leah texted me, so I turn my phone back on to see a swarm of texts from her. I read the first one "Maddie somethings happened, The staff is missing"
