I sat on a table in the court yard of my new school, mindlessly playing with the straps of my Tripps.
This is my third transfer since I started high school three years ago.
Two sophomore year, one this year. Not because of those typical reasons, my family doesn't 'move around a lot' or anything. In the words of my last principal, I'm "just a bad kid".I sighed and stood up, slinging my plain black backpack over my right shoulder before slowly walking into the school.
The halls were all empty, meaning I was probably late. Oops...
Why doesn't this place have a map or something? All the halls look exactly the same! How the hell am I supposed to know where "AP English- Mr. Hogue" was? Damn fancy high schools...I forgot to pay attention to where I was walking and ended up in the only place even remotely familiar to me; the office.
At least they can help me. I opened the door and stepped inside, hearing the clicks of keyboards and such.
It smells like hand sanitizer in here... And shame. I cautiously made my way up to the front desk, waiting for someone to notice me.Nobody did.
"Good luck," a gruff voice behind me scoffed. "He'll will freeze over before you get what you came here for. You new or what?"
I turned slightly to see a guy about my age sitting slumped in one of the chairs. He had dyed red hair and a mid-length leather jacket. I recognized the logo on his shirt as Winged Skull.
"Yeah... I'm new." I answered him, dropping myself in one of the chairs. "Why are they so busy? It's the middle of first semester, what exactly are they busy with?"
He scoffed again. "Who knows?"
It was quiet for a moment before I decided to speak,
"Nice shirt. Seen'em live?"
"Duh...."
Another silence.
"...you?"
I nodded. "Yeah, a few times. Met the drummer too."
I like this kid.
Before we could continue our bonding, a snotty voice spoke up.
"Castiel, the principal will see you now."
The guy beside me stood up and began walking away, then stopped and coasted a glance back at me.
"Until next time..."
"Raiden."
"Hmm... Until next time Raiden."
