Then I wondered

I'm a waitress at a restaurant as a family came in. Not the family you normally see, there was a young boy and his older sister, a father and their grandma. I wondered what this was about.

Could the mother have left them all alone and the grandma was acting like their mother.

Or maybe their mother was at work and just couldn't come.

I thought and though then I wondered some more.

Did their mother die?

Where they adopted? With no mother?

I guess I'll never know...
