Chapter 2: Cheater

TRIGGER WARNING this chapter will contain a scene with mentions of rape, if you are uncomfortable with this, do not read.

I began to walk up the steps. This was it.

I knocked on the door and when it opens Velvet made a face. "Who the hell are you?"

"I um, I'm Ritz, me and Veneer are partners on an art project." I say.

"Oh, wait arn't you Orchid's brother?" She suddenly asked. Her mouth immediately shut and... she was blushing? That's weird, as far as I'm concerned, Velvet wasn't someone who gets flustered, like, ever.

"You know my sister?" I ask.

"Um, vaguely. She's in some of my classes." She says.

I shrugged. "That's cool."

She clears her throat. "Anyways, you said you're here because of some project thing?"

"Uh, yeah."

"Come on then." She begins stomping up the stairs.

I followed her until she stopped at a door, she twisted the knob and opened it.

I saw that Morty was sitting at the edge of Veneer's bed, eagerly drawing something in her sketchbook, while Veneer himself had his head on Rick's shoulder, who was scrolling on something, his arm wrapped around Veneer's shoulders. Oh how much I wanted to be in Rick's place, holding him like that. Must be a dream. I honestly wonder if Rick knows how lucky he is. I've seen what goes on with them, and I've noticed that Veneer's always been loyal. I've seen Rick flirting with other guys behind Veneer's back, sometimes even other girls. He even tried flirting with ME once.

-Flashback-

I sat down in my seat, and was about to open my sketchbook when someone draped their arm around me. I turn my head to see Rick. Rick, EXTREMELY close to my face, smirking.

"Hi." He giggled.

My eyebrows furrowed and I pulled away, but he followed.

"Why yah running away." He asks smoothly.

"I-" I start to speak, but stop as he got closer and closer, lips puckered.

I push him off of me. "Oh my God! Don't you have a boyfriend?!"

And as if on cue, Veneer walks into the classroom, his eyes were glued to his phone though, so he didn't see what had happened.

Rick was up and running over to him in seconds, I saw him grab Veneer's hips and pulled him into a kiss. "Hi baby. What's up?" A clueless Veneer asks him.

I thought about going and telling Veneer that his boyfriend just tried to cheat on him. But I knew that Rick would just find some way to pin it on me. So I kept my mouth shut. I didn't say anything. It felt horrible.

-Present-

Veneer and Rick looked up, "Oh! Hey Ritz!" Veneer said cheerfully. Rick just had a plain expression on his face.

"Um, hi." I wave a little like a complete idiot.

He grins at me, then Rick decided that it was a good time to start making out with him. I looked away.

"Oh my God, can't you guys save that for when you're alone?" Velvet squeezed her eyes shut and turned around to go do who knows what. I couldn't help but agree with her.

This is in a way, what went on for me for the next week, everyday, after school, I'd go to Veneer's house, his parents weren't usually home, although I did run into them once, his mom was nice, and his dad was a decent human being. Then me and Veneer would work on our project while Morty and Rick, well, mostly Morty, worked on theirs.

But then Veneer said that we'd be going to Rick's house to work on it and since Lily, Orchid's girlfriend, just so happens to be Rick's sister, Orchid came with us. We ended up getting there an hour early, and when Lily let us in, I forced myself to hold back a gag.

The house stank, bad. I could smell the cat boxes that were on the other side of the house from the door, this was bad.I've never actually been to Lily and Rick's house, but the moment I stepped in, I wanted out.

It was dirty too, the floor was littered with food wrappers, containers, even dishes. And the sink was completely overflowing with enough of those already. And I'm pretty sure I saw a bunch of wet spots and dried poop. It was disgusting. I felt like I was about to throw up.

Orchid stayed to hang out with Lily, and Veneer led me to Rick's room. He opens the door but stopped right after the first step.

I peer over his shoulder and gasped.

It was Rick.

With Morty pinned to the wall half naked and crying, with hickeys all over her neck and down.

I could tell the poor thing was being forced into it, she was good. She'd never kiss someone elses significant other. Ever.

I push past a frozen Veneer and grabbed Rick's shoulders, pulled him off of her. I punched him square in the nose, breaking it. Damn that felt good.

I did it again, and pushed him onto the dirty floor, grab what I assume was Morty's shirt and hand it to her. She shakily put it back on and I pulled her into a hug, she completely collapsed onto me. Poor thing.

"It's okay. You're okay Morty." I whisper to her. She responded with a small whimper.

I walk over to Veneer, who was still frozen.

Morty was right behind me, then Rick stood up.

"Veneer, baby please-" He began, reaching towards Veneer.

Veneer took a step back. "N-no! G-get away from m-me! D-don't touch me!"

"But baby-" Rick grabbed his arm, his nose bleeding pathetically down his face.

"I SAID DON'T TOUCH ME!" Veneer pulled away, slapping Rick. He looked like he was on the verge of tears.

"YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Rick yelled.

"YOU'RE THE MOTHERFUCKER!" I scream at him.

He scowled at me, his eyes filled with rage.

He tried to punch me, but I dodged and uppercuted him. He stumbled back, bleeding even more now.

I grab both Morty's and Veneer's arms and storm down the hallway towards the door. When Lily saw us she jumped up, eyes wide with shock. Orchid shared the expression.

"What the fuck happened?!" Lily exclaims.

"You're brother, that's what." I hiss before walking out the door with Morty and Veneer following.
