Sitting on the step of your porch, with your head rested in your hand, you think of how hard it will be with him leaving. Spending the summer with Nathan was unbelievable, and no doubt the best part of your year. All the parties, dates, fun times spent together made memories you will never forget. However, now Nathan has to go back to Colorado early the next morning. You bite your lip, keeping the sad thoughts and tears back as a car pulls into your driveway. A smile appears on your face, beaming ear to ear as Nathan rolls down his window.

"A little desperate are we?" he chuckled, giving a wink. "Waiting on the porch for me?"

You roll your eyes and laughing, getting up and approaching the car. Walking around the front of the car you say, "Shut up Nathan." still laughing at his comment.

You let yourself in his car and take a seat, buckling up. "You know I'm always desperate for you," you say to him, pretending to be seductive. He knows it and winks again, leaning over and kissing you softly on the lips. You run your fingers through his long hair as you kiss, placing your other hand on the arm rest. Suddenly the car horn sounds, breaking the kiss with a shock and laughter.

"Shit," Nathan said frowning, his eyebrows burrowed in frustration. He had bumped it with his elbow.

You throw your head back and laugh, leaning back in your seat. "That's not the first time you've done that."

Nathan rolled his eyes and laughed. With that he backed out of the driveway and headed down the road. Linking your hand in his, you look over at him and smile. How lucky am I. You think to yourself.

The drive is quite silent for the first few minutes. The radio was playing so the only sound was the car. You look out the window at the darkening surroundings, thinking that it must be 7:00 by now.

Nathan breaks the silence, clearing his throat to speak. "So do you know where we are going?" he asked, knowing the answer to his question already.

You turn your head back to face him and shake it. "You never did tell me." you said, excited to know the plans.

Nathan smirked and you couldn't help but smile. You knew he had something good planned. The drive was silent, for words were not needed between them to have a good time.

At 7:30 you reached a fancy hotel, 5 stars to be exact. Your mouth dropped open in awe. He parked the car in front of the main doors and an usher came to open your door. Nathan got out and stood by your side, holding a gift bag. "Nate.." you started, but he hushed you. "Let's go in." He held out his arm for you. It was the first time you noticed he was wearing a suit. You bit your lip realizing you were very underdressed. Nathan tossed the keys to the usher and lead you into the beautiful building.

Once you were in the building Nathan stopped and moved to the side, handing you the gift bag. "The bathroom is over there. I bought you this the other day." he said pointing. You raised and eye brow and opened your mouth to speak, but he kissed you before you could say anything. He pulled away first, folding his arms and pointing to the bathroom. You laughed and rolled your eyes, doing as you were told.

When you got into the bathroom you placed the bag on the counter and pulled out what was inside. Your jaw dropped as a beautiful glittering silver dress fell before your eyes. "This just of been so expensive." you said to yourself, running your fingers along the dress. Excitedly you changed into it, throwing your old clothes into the gift bag.

You left the bathroom, gift bag in hand as the dress flowed behind you, glittering in the lights. Nate turned and saw you, his jaw dropping. The dress fit you perfectly. "You are beautiful." he said, pulling you into him and kissing you.

He took you do the dinning hall, opening the door to let you in first. The room was dimmed and in the center of the room was a round table lit with candles. Your jaw dropped again, in awe of everything. You were speechless. Nathan handed the usher your gift bag and grabbed your hand, kissing it gently. He led you to the table and pulled the chair out for you.

The meal was wonderful. Chicken cordon bleu and all the expensive wine and champagne you wanted. The desert was a gormet chocolate cake and ice cream. The feast consisted of good laughs and stories and when you were finished your cake you placed your fork down sighing.

"That was amazing!" you exclaimed, a big smile on you face. Nathan had his chin resting in his hands and he was looking at you. Just looking. He had a soft smile and his eyes gleamed. At that moment, you really felt like you were loved.

"Let's go." Nate said, getting up and pushing in his chair. He grabbed your hand and helped you up. With an arm around you, together you walked out of the hall.

"Nathan I can't thank you enough.." you began, but he hushed you again. He took you to the elevator and hit the top floor. The penthouse.

"I rented it for the night." he said, holding you close. You leaned your head against him and smiled.

When you entered the penthouse you looked around, beaming. As you were taking it all in, Nathan came behind you and hugged you. Immediately you turn to face him.

"Thank you Nathan. For everything. Everything you have done for me." you said, a tear falling down your cheek. "I'm going to miss you."

He frowned slightly but then smiled again, wiping the tear off of your cheek. "You deserve the world. You're my beautiful girlfriend and I don't know what I'd do without you. I love you so much." he said, looking in your eyes.

Your heart fluttered and you smiled. "I love you too." With that he picked you up and kissed you. It was a perfect night for the last one spent together.
