Forty-seven Uses for a Paperclip by tiptoe13
Colton Pearce is annoying, a flirt, and definitely not in Cassidy's ten-year plan. Then again, neither is falling in love. When their English teacher hires them to clean his grandmother's house for the summer, she discovers that there may be more to Colton than meets the eye. Through a valuable baseball card, strained relationships with fathers, and much dust, Cassidy and Colton might discover forty-seven uses for a paperclip and -possibly -even love along the way.
"It's true." Colton insists, his light green eyes dancing with amusement. "You should hear what some people are talking about. They say he has forty-seven uses for a paperclip. And that he was in the CIA but got kicked out for being too sexy. Although I think the latter might be a lie."
"Forty-seven uses to do what with a paperclip?" I ask.
"Who knows? That's just what I hear."
"You seem to hear a lot."
"I keep my ears open."
What I think
Oh … hm.. wow… I just read this like four hours ago and the story is nice. The description is kind of misleading though. Hmmm… It has one component that almost every girl would want: the feeling that would make her feel cherished. It’s starts very light and it’s very easy to read(hmm… does that make sense?). I like how realistic the relationship with the family is, because I’ve been constantly looking for something like that(I mean, the realistic sense). It’s not the perfect family, it’s not the shitty family… it’s what average families are like(well, minus the beating)Normal families argue about the simplest things and most parents have once or twice pressured you into doing something you don’t want to do. That’s what I think normal families are, I think. Or the families I’m close to aren’t the average kind of families. Anyway, the story is good and well-written.
