23 - Uncovered feelings

I wake in the morning getting changed slipping my shoes on as well, I gently and quietly open the hatch climbing down the ladder, I walk down the path to the food cabin, kicking pebbles as I walked along it, I entered the cabin taking my seat as Fry passes me my plate of food.

"Good morning Y/N" he says cheerfully, I smile at him "Good morning to you too Fry" I respond with acting normal, he nods before turning away "Morning Y/N" Tara said smiling "Morning" I say then I hear a voice behind me.

"Nice to see you awake early again Y/N" I glance at him and smile "Hey Newt, just felt like getting up that's all" I responded smiling, he took a seat in front of me "didn't expect you to come down without Teresa, she still sleeping?" he said I nodded "Yeah I left her sleeping after she let me out of respect" I say as I start eating my food then look back up noticing Thomas wasn't here.

"Wait where is Thomas? He's always here before me?" I ask, Newt looked at me "Before you get annoyed, Minho asked him to run today as some of the runners weren't feeling too great today" Newt said, I knew for a fact it was meant to be his day off but if people weren't well then fair enough I guess.

Newt starts eating his food, "So Y/N, how long till Teresa gets up do you think?" Tara asked me having just finished her own food plate, "I have no idea" I respond to her as I hear a voice behind me "I heard my name?" I turn around as Teresa spoke she smiled taking a seat sitting in front of me, I avoid her eye contact.

"Y/N, you didn't wake me this morning? How come?" she asks "Oh I wanted to let you sleep in after you let me the other day" I responded to her question I then finish my plate and stand up "I'm going to head to work, I'll see you guys later ok" I say leaving the cabin.

I arrive at the garden noticing I am the only one there "Thank lord i'm the only one here" I mutter under my breath to myself, I start getting to work and not too long later here voice approaching the garden, I glance behind me to look who is heading over, it was Newt and Teresa.

"Hey Y/N, what are you working on?" Teresa asks me watching me work "Hey, Alby wants a greenhouse over here so I am working on the area and layout for it" I say digging dirt into a pile next to me "Would you like some help?" she asks, I shake my head "No thanks, I'm good" I say out the corner of my eye I see Newt glancing at me like I am being an idiot and Teresa shifting herself uncomfortably.

"You guys, just going to stand there or what?" I say not thinking or processing what I had just actually said, I glance back at Teresa and she seems slightly hurt she went to speak but stopped herself before she did walking to the other side of the garden, I stick the shovel in the dirt pausing running my hands through my hair stressed, I then start placing the greenhouse foundations.

I finished doing that and glanced up at Newt who was getting ready to leave "I'll see you later Newt" I said to him as he waved at me walking off, the sun begins to set as I finish my work for the day and I catch the runners return out the corner of my eye I smile happy to see them all safe, I make my way back to the tree house and up the ladder closing the hatch gently.

I glance around noticing I am alone I sigh in relief and stress from the day, I walk over to the trunk that belonged to myself and changing into some more relaxing clothing for the evening, I then walk out onto the deck leaning on the railing over looking the entire glade, I then begin to daydream back to the memory, the utter happiness I had felt as we ran here and about how natural the kiss had felt on me, I then snap out of it hearing the sound of light shuffling from behind me.

I turn to see Teresa, "Hey.." she says I look away "hi" I respond very softly, I glance one more time at the glade before closing the deck door very gently, I take a seat on a chair on the deck my head fall between my knees onto the hands in complete and utter stress.

I then hear the door open behind me, I lift my head glancing over at it, "Are you ok?" Teresa asked me I sit there staying silent for a quick moment "I'm fine, I'm just stressed" I say fully turning to face her, her expression not believe me all to much.

"Are you sure Y/N" she asks her face looking pretty worried, "Yeah.. I am sure.. I'm going to go for a walk and maybe grab some more food if that's ok.." I say she nods at me smiling a little trying to warm up the situation "Yeah of course, I'll see you later, but I am here if you need someone to talk to" she says.

I climbed down the ladder going for a walk to clear my head, it was clear now that we had gone somewhere with each other before we came here and I... I tried killing her.. it was almost too much for my conscious to even handle I shake the thoughts out of my head, trying my best not to overthink about it too much, as there was guilt building more and more as I thought about it, I then glanced over in the distance seeing the guys sitting at the picnic table eating food, I headed over as I was starving.
