For the love of God I wish I watched more Twilight...
I thought to myself as I continued to struggle to maneuver the weightless human in my arms. I tried once again to bite the women in front of me, only to recoil again at the strange and uncomfortable sensation. I cringed at myself before hastily lapping at the dribbles of blood coming out of the shallow wound I had just created. My stomach clenched in need for sustenance, while the rest of my body fought to keep the disgusting, salty liquid down.
This fucking sucks. Being a vampire fucking sucks. Literally.
I tried once more to bite, only to be interrupted by the familiar but obnoxious scream of a passerby. I rolled my eyes, licking up what I could, before pushing the unconscious body away from me. I glanced back at the young woman who screamed, and watched as she shook in her boots from my gaze. It didn't take her long to grab her phone and start calling the police, which was my cue to book it. I easily jumped up on top of the building next to the alley I had been feeding in, and immediately started running to try and distance myself from the scene. I felt my stomach clench again at its emptiness and let out a frustrated groan. I paused at a nearby building and hunched over in pain. My arms easily wrapped themselves around my malnourished body, and I cringed as I felt the prominent ribs underneath my fingertips.
Hungry...
I had already been a vampire for a few months, but obviously I still struggled with the whole blood sucking business. In reality I sucked at all vampire business, having no one to show me the ropes since I had turned, only relying on the knowledge I previously knew from fairy tales. I wasn't really able to do any research on it either considering my appearance. Before I was turned, I had pretty brown hair and blue eyes, which I was frequently complimented on. However my transformation had completely changed my appearance, leaving me with a mop of messy white hair, and black eyes. Not completely ugly, but not anywhere close to normal enough to be seen in public. The last time I tried I immediately had people freaking out over my appearance, especially with how pale my skin had gotten. My family didn't recognize me either, treating me like a stranger when I knocked on the door and calling me a sick freak for pretending to be their missing son, leaving me to fend for myself in a world that is not very welcoming. I couldn't blame humans for their fear, as I had the same fears as them not too long ago, but it still wasn't too great for me now.
I forced myself to take deep breaths as I tried to keep my nausea at bay. I couldn't afford to lose anything right now. I had just barely found some relief when I felt something even worse. I froze at the feeling, my senses going into overdrive trying to detect what was wrong. Then suddenly I could see it. Not literally, but I could feel something coming towards me at a speed that no human could ever accomplish on foot. My fight or flight kicked in immediately, and my newfound adrenalin was enough to push me forward.
I shot towards the next building at lightning speed. Then the next. And then the next. Each time I jumped I could feel myself running out of energy, and I could feel the presence catching up with me. One painful stomach cramp had me slowing down even more, and I trembled as I felt the heat of something behind me. I pushed myself harder, eyes wide and lungs aching. Each step I took I could feel the hot breath behind me get even closer, and it didn't take long after that for a huge weight to be dropped on top of me. I felt my body skid across the concrete roofing, fresh wounds opening each inch we moved. I clenched my teeth, but I couldn't keep the small cry from escaping me at the sensation of tearing skin, leaving the concrete underneath me painted in my own blood.
Finally, we came to a stop, my upper body hanging haphazardly over the side of the building. I gasped and wheezed as air refilled my lungs, leaving me trembling underneath the huge body above me. My fingers clawed at the concrete, trying to find a way to pull myself up, however the body straddling my back made it impossible to me to even try to shimmy backwards. I started to go lightheaded as all the blood rushed into my head, and the view below me was enough to have me whining as nausea corrupted my thoughts. I wheezed and clenched my eyes shut as I was hauled backwards by the back of my shirt, leaving me choking on air. My white hair stuck to my sweaty brow as I harshly pulled up and shoved onto my back. I forced my eyes open just in time to see the blank expression on the man above me turn into a suddenly interested one as he took in my appearance. I narrowed my eyes at him and attempted to thrash in his hold only to be rudely reminded of the new cuts across my flesh as they moved. I froze and took a shaky breath as I tried to keep still, finally taking in the man above me.
His vibrant green eyes held a mischievous glint to them, while also containing a heat to them that made his face seem much more sexy than it needed to be. His hair was an ashy blond, and framed his chiseled face well with soft waves. He was definitely muscly but was more on the lean side, and even though we were both on the ground I could tell he was tall. His police uniform seemed to contradict his youthful and mischievous vibe, but at the same time he somehow pulled it off. His sly smile grew as he saw me checking him out.
One of his hands roughly grabbed my jaw as he leaned in and I could feel his hot, minty breath on my face. His other hand carelessly shoved his fingers into my mouth, which was a fucking surprise by the way, before he forced my jaw open and looked at my fangs, which still had small traces of blood on them. He smirked, his finger gently tracing the side of my elongated fang. I couldn't help but whine at the contact and attempt to pull away, only for his grip on my face to grow tighter.
"So it's you who I've been chasing for weeks?"
