The teacher starts talking about how since summer break is coming up, they should invite him to supervise, blah blah blah. You all already know how the story goes, but what you might not know, is about Hikaru Nara and his life in high school. And let me tell you, it is not pretty.
The life of the person in question is a sad one. All his memories are of him being alone, with nobody to talk to. It seems like nobody wants to talk to him either, and the reasons for this are varied. Some say it's because of his eyes, which differ from most people's. Others say it's because he is so depressing that it makes people who talk to him just as depressed. But that only happens when they talk to him, and that rarely happens. It was honestly sad to see him this way. He often sat alone in the cafeteria, reading a book or eating his lunch silently. Some of his classmates would glance at him and quickly look away, not wanting to draw attention to themselves. Others would avoid him, crossing the room to sit with their friends on the other side.
(He also has heterochromia in this story)
Despite all of this, he was a straight-A student and has been all his life. And no, he wasn't some kind of study-holic. He was just trying to get good grades to get a good job to support himself and his little sister. They were in a bit of a financial struggle, and he wanted to do everything he could to help them. He would often stay up late at night, studying and working on assignments, even when he was exhausted. He knew that good grades were his ticket to a better future, and he was determined to make the most of his opportunities. It's not easy being alone all the time, especially when you're young and still trying to find your place in the world. But he had given up on finding that opportunity, namely because he never got it handed to him.
Last night was no different, as he had spent the entire night studying without rest. When his class finally ended, he was relieved but also completely exhausted. He began packing up his things and preparing to leave the classroom when he saw a green phone landing on his feet. Hikaru was surprised by the sudden appearance of the phone, but he quickly picked it up and looked around to see who it belonged to. He saw a girl with chestnut-colored hair, who seemed to be searching for something, and he approached her.
Hikaru: Hello. Um, I think you dropped this.
???: Oh, thank you...
The girl looked at him in surprise and took the phone from him. She thanked him, leaving Hikaru feeling a bit awkward. Though he tried to act calm on the outside, he was internally freaking out. He had never been very good at talking to girls or people in general, and he had just made himself look foolish in front of a group of people he didn't even know.
Hikaru quickly left the classroom and headed home. His dark, long, red hair was tied up in a ponytail, and he carried his bookbag with him. His house, or rather his apartment, was just one small room that tripled as a bedroom, kitchen, and dining room. It was a modest dwelling, but it was all he needed for now. He then started to study and study, for so long to the point, he had to put a timer to make dinner for his little sister, Kina Nara. He usually made the food but never was able to eat anything, mainly because he had to leave for school, come back home, and then go to work a job that lasted from 17:00 to 24:00.
(from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.)
And after he came home from that, he would study non-stop and make breakfast for his sister, before he would eventually run to school, and make it way too early. It was a never-ending cycle, in which he barely got 30 minutes of sleep during his break from his job. When he had finally finished making dinner for Kina she would get home and change his clothes, put his notes in his bag along with homework, and run out of his home. After getting to the street of his workplace he sees a young boy, about his sister's age, running from a dog that was currently chasing him, he quickly grabs the child's hand and shoos the dog away. he then kneels at the kid's eye level.
