As the first month of their project rolled by, Renzo found himself immersed in a whirlwind of activity. With deadlines looming and ideas flowing, he and his friends decided to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon at Renzo's house, kicking back with snacks and video games.
"Alright, settle this once and for all," Miguel declared, his eyes gleaming with mischief as he waved his controller in the air. "Who's the best Main Character in anime?"
Renzo leaned back on the couch, a thoughtful expression on his face as he considered Miguel's question. "It's gotta be Naruto," he argued, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "I mean, the guy literally never gives up."
But before Miguel could respond, his phone buzzed with a new message, drawing his attention away from the debate. "Hey, Renzo, looks like you've got a text from Hana," he teased, waggling his eyebrows suggestively.
Renzo felt a flush rise to his cheeks as he reached for his phone, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of Hana's name on the screen. With a quick glance at his friends, he opened the message, his curiosity piqued.
To his surprise, Hana's message was a simple invitation to meet up at a nearby cafe or restaurant. Confusion gnawed at Renzo's gut as he typed out a quick response, agreeing to the rendezvous. He couldn't help but wonder what Hana wanted to talk about, especially since they had been so focused on the project lately.
As Renzo made his way to the cafe, his mind raced with possibilities. Was there something wrong with the project? Did Hana need help with something else entirely? The questions swirled in his mind like a tempest, leaving him feeling slightly anxious as he approached the familiar storefront.
When he stepped inside, he spotted Hana sitting alone at a table near the window, a tentative smile lighting up her face as she caught sight of him. Relief flooded through Renzo as he made his way over, his worries melting away in the warmth of her greeting.
"Hey, Hana," he greeted her with a smile, sliding into the seat opposite her. "Thanks for inviting me. Is everything okay?"
Hana nodded, her gaze steady as she met his eyes. "Yeah, everything's fine," she assured him, her voice calm and steady. "I just wanted to talk to you about... well, Renzo I..."
Renzo's heart skipped a beat at her words, his mind racing with possibilities. Was she about to confess her feelings for him? The thought sent a surge of excitement coursing through his veins, mingled with a touch of nervousness.
But before Hana could continue, the door to the cafe swung open, and a group of Renzo's friends burst through, their laughter ringing out like a chorus of bells. Renzo's heart sank as he recognized Miguel and the others, their mischievous grins betraying their intentions.
"Hana, fancy meeting you here," Miguel teased, winking at Renzo as he took a seat at the table. "We were just in the neighborhood and thought we'd join you guys for a chat."
Renzo shot his friends a pleading look, silently begging them to give him some space. But Hana, ever the diplomat, simply smiled and welcomed them to the table, her composure unwavering in the face of their intrusion.
