We make our way through the passage and climb up a hatchway to see that we are inside The Shrieking Shack. Harry gets up first then helps Mione and I up as well. We look down at the ground and see a trail of fresh blood leading up towards the stairs. "We're in the Shrieking Shack, aren't we?" Hermione questions. "Come on." harry tugs at my hand and I tug at Hermione's as we all go up the stairs and as we go higher and higher the stairs Ron's grunts and moans of pain get closer and closer. We see Ron huddled in a corner in one of the rooms. "Ron!" Harry yells out. We all run to him "Ron, you're okay!" Hermione says. We all kneel beside him, and I check him for any other wounds on his body.
"The dog--where is it?" Harry asks. "Harry, it's a trap!" He points to the door behind us. "He's the dog! He's an Animangus!" The open-door slams shut and behind it is Sirius Black. He starts to walk over to us, and I leap up and go right in front of Harry. "If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" I tell him. I can feel Harry trying to break past me. "No. Only one will die tonight." Sirius Black calmly tells us. "Then it'll be you!" Harry yells out as he breaks away from me and charges to Sirius Black slamming him on the ground. Harry points his wand right into Black's neck. Black starts to chuckle. "Are you going to kill me Harry?"
The door to the room slams open again revealing professor Lupin. "Expelliarmus!" He disarms Harry's wand from him. He motions for Harry to get out of the way, and he scrambles up back to us and Lupin makes his way over to Black. "Well, well, Sirius... looking rather ragged, are we?" I grip onto Harry's arm and tug him back towards us, me slightly standing in front of him to protect him. "Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within." "Well, you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you Remus?" Black teases back at him. Lupin lowers his wand and smirks at Black before holding out his hand and helping him up off the ground. Black gives Lupin a hug and grips onto his arms. "I found him." "I know." "He's here." "I understand." "Let's kill him!" "No!" Hermione screams out. "I trusted you... and all this time, you've been his friend. He's a werewolf that's why he's been missing classes!"
Lupin looks over to Hermione. "How long have you known?" He asks her. "Since Professor Snape set the essay." She answers him. "Well, well, well, Hermione. You really are the brightest witch of your age I've ever met." "Enough talk, Remus! Come on, let's kill him!" "Wait!" "I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban." Lupin looks over between us and Black before handing his wand off to him. "Very well. Kill him. But wait one more minute. Harry has the right to know why." "I know why. You betrayed my parents. You're the reason their dead!" "No, Harry it wasn't him. Somebody did betray your parents, but it was somebody who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead!" "Who was it, then?" "Petter Pettigrew!" Black screams out at us. "Here's here in this room right now. Come out come out Peter. Come out and play!"
As Black walks closer to us, Snape enters through the door. "Expelliarmus! Vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you." "Severus, it..." The professor tries to tell him but is cut off by Snape pointing his wand at him. "I told Dumbledore you were helping an old friend into the castle, and now here's the proof." "Brilliant, Snape. Once again, you put your keen and penetrating mind to the task, and as usual, come to the wrong conclusion. Now, if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have some unfinished business to attend to." Black saunters over to Snape which causes him to stick his wand right at his neck. "Give me a reason. I beg you." "Severus, don't be a fool." "He can't help it. It's habit by now." "Sirius, be quiet!" Oh, listen to you two, quarreling like an old married couple." "Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set?" Snape presses his wand harder into Black's neck. "I could do it. you know. But why deny the dementors? They're so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear? A dementor's kiss. One can only imagine what that must be like to endure. It's said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best."
