After searching for an hour, I finally found a dress that was my personal favorite. I took out my earrings and everything I needed for my makeup.

After giving myself a warm bath, I began to get ready. I applied a touch of makeup, as I preferred a lighter look. I styled my hair, giving it some straightening, and then I moved to admire my glittery red dress. Finally, I put on the pretty dress and searched for the earrings I had selected for this dress.

Ping!

I received a text from Ava.

Ava: On the way, will reach there in 15 mins.

Hastily, I searched for my heels and luckily found them in no time.

I looked at myself in the mirror, brushed my hair, and applied my sugar vanilla perfume. Then, again glanced myself in the mirror and I took a mirror selfie— yes, I enjoy taking them. In the mean time the door bell rang, I took two three pictures before rushing to the door.

"Hey Darling!" Ava greeted when I opened the door.

"Hey love!" I replied. She gave me a thorough once-over.

"Looking hot, babes. It's getting hot in here," she complimented, winking.

"Yes, it's hot in here because of you," I replied, returning the wink. She looked stunning as always in her black dress.

"Hey! Long time no see," a voice chimed in, and it was none other than James, who emerged from behind Ava.

"Hii!" I replied with a smile. If I say James was not a handsome man, it would be a lie, James was undeniably handsome with dark brown hair, green eyes, and a charming smile.

"Let's go, we're getting late," I said, stepping out and locking my apartment.

We got into James's car as he had his own. He held a good position in his father's company. We arrived at the club and headed directly to the second floor where the VIP section was. James showed some sort of card to the guards, and we gained entry.

The club was expansive, filled with hundreds of people, well-lit with beautifully managed areas. There was a well-stocked bar offering a variety of beverages and private rooms for separate parties like birthdays.

"Let's head to the bar," Ava suggested, and we agreed. We made our way to the bar and ordered some drinks.

"Let's go for a dance" James looks at Ava.

"Okay, let's go," Ava agreed, but I decided to stay and watch.

James and Ava headed to the dance floor, leaving me sitting at the bar. I watched them dance and laugh. Ava loves him so much anyone could see it when she is around him and James seemed equally happy around her. But who knows, I wouldn't believe it until he proposed to her for marriage but, after marriage who knows…

After all, it had only been a year since they met. It was a love story that started with a chance encounter at a café, they bumped into each other in a café. It was love at first sight but, I didn't believe it, really love at first sight, no there is no such thing, it's only attraction. I told her like hundred times but it was of no use, she fell for him really hard and it was mutual feeling and they are together now, it's not like that I didn't want them to be together but, I didn't want to see her heart broken again, she’s my best friend and I didn't want to see her like that because I've already seen her heartbroken during our college days and she hadn't been able to date anyone until she met James.

They looked good together, lost in each other, while I sat and admired them. Eventually, my gaze drifted elsewhere around the club. I spotted a familiar face emerging from a private room...

"Hey!" someone said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I turned to see a man with blonde hair and blue eyes sitting beside me, looking like a total player.

"Yes?" I replied with a straight face not a bit interested in him.

"May I have the honor of dancing with this gorgeous lady?" he asked with a cheesy line.

"No, thank you," I replied with a blank face, my eyes drifting back to Ava and James, who were nowhere to be seen, probably off somewhere making out.

"Should we have a drink tog..." Before he could finish his sentence, I got up from my seat.

"Excuse me, I have to go and look for my friends," I said, making my way to the dance floor, though I was just pretending to search for them. I knew they needed some private time, so instead of searching for them I left the club and decided to take a walk down the beautiful street.

As I walked, I noticed someone near the parking area—a familiar man from earlier who was coming out of the private room. He was leaning against the car. I saw him carefully, I knew who he was now, black shirt, black pants, hands in his pockets, illuminated by the yellow lights. He was none other than my team leader, Eden Miller. What a beautiful luck I've got, he looked in my direction, his gaze meeting mine without a word.

What should I do? Should I ignore him and pretend I haven't seen him, or should I go and greet him? No, that's probably a bad idea. What if he doesn't recognize me? But before I could decide, I found myself already standing in front of him, he was looking directly in my eyes without saying a word - our eyes locked in silence.
