Sunfall lashed his tail, "Approach!" he hissed in command, "Slowly." He crawled forward on his belly, his face twisted in concentration.
Sunspots rolled his eyes. He thinks he sounds like such a leader. Like he's wise, or something. Not all medicine cats are wise, Sunfall, and you're no exception. Step back, you're approaching intruders!

Sunfall rushed ahead, forcing the rest of the medicine cats to catch up. As the brazen RockClan medic was swallowed by the darkness of the Sliced Hill, Sunspots felt a pang of worry echo through his chest. The rest of the medicine cats pelted after him, into the darkness, searching desperately for their friend.
Sunspots glanced around and stopped in horror when his eyes noticed the four gloomy silhouettes crowding around the center of the cavern. Their eyes were beaming with light, even if their pelts were obscured. One of the warriors at the end, with glassy blue eyes, smirked. "Welcome."

Leopardpaw nodded in excitement and stepped forward in awe, touching his nose to the sacred stone in the center of the cave, hoping to dream with StarClan.
"Leopardpaw, stop!" Sunfall yowled angrily, but it was too late. Leopardpaw's body slumped to the ground.

The same blue-eyed tom began to growl, and he emerged from the deep shadows. His claws were noticeably unsheathed and he began to raise them.

"No!" a she-cat hissed, her green eyes narrowing, "Don't you dare, that's not our mission."
"Who are you?" Fastclaw suddenly hissed, arching her back and ruffling her pelt as to make her small stature look larger.

Snowybreeze hid behind Juniperleaf who joined the BirdClan medicine cat's threatening stance. The GreenClan medicine cat snarled, "I was once a warrior, you know. I can fight, too!"

The green-eyed she-cat rolled her small eyes. "Don't even try it. If you weren't mouse-brains, you'd be fleeing right now. Unlike you, I'm not afraid to kill."

Suddenly another one of the intruders growled. He had a dark pelt and a deep voice, "Hurry up, Echosoul! Stop playing along to their--"
"Silence, Thornstripes! I'm doing it now!" and the green-eyed she-cat swung a jet-black paw.

Sunspots yowled, moving back and bumping into Goldpaw who squeaked and ran from the Sliced Hill entirely, where Snowybreeze was also taking cover. Fastclaw and Sunspots were both screeching bloody murder, and Juniperleaf covered her apprentice as white shards flew out to hit their muzzles.

Quartz like broken glass ricocheted off the walls and a million shards like stars scattered the dark cave floor. They ebbed with light, Sunspots saw, until the stars all blinked from existence, and no one could spot any difference between them and the floor.

A ringing echoed in Sunspot's ears. He saw the black she-cat's maw twist into a pleasured grin, and the other three cats beside her began to hiss, snarl, and emerge from the shadows in which they were before hid.
The medicine cats still remaining in the Sliced Hill stood their ground, more-so petrified at what had just occurred than brave enough to face these dark agents.
"What--" Sunspots uttered. He had just noticed Leopardpaw, who was still lying near the paws of the intruders, bleeding out from an unknown area of his body. "What did you do?"

Sunfall's eyes followed Sunspot's and he yowled, leaping forward and yowling, but being mistaken for attacking the blue-eyed tom, the intruder's gray paw swept out and knocked the ruddy medicine cat aside.

"I see you have no idea how your own connection with StarClan works. You see--"
"Silence, Cavestone." Echosoul hissed, slapping her tail against the ground. She continued, "Your connection to StarClan has been shattered-- literally. Leopardpaw was caught in the middle, so you draw a conclusion," and her mouth upturned again in a smug grin.
