I picked myself up off the cold hard wooded floor. I held my throbbing head where it hit the wall. I look up to my father as he walked down the stairs. I looked behind me to the hole in the wall where my head had collided. I slowly stood up and went to my room. I closed the door and locked it. I slid down the door and cried. Why does he do this to me? What did I ever do?! It's his fault mom left! His drunk ass always coming home late and cheating on mom with those other girls! I still remember there fights they had night after night. I can't be with this anymore! I slowly stood up and wiped my face. I moved my hair out of my eyes and I walked over to my desk chair and put on my black hoodie and put on my black beanie and converses. I walked over to my closet and grabbed my backpack and grabbed as many clothes as I could fit along with my toothbrush and a sleeping bag. I took my phone off its charger and turned off the finder app so he can't track me down. I took one more look around my room and stopped on the photo of my mother. I picked it up and shoved it in my bag. I took all my life savings and walked over to the window. I pushed it open and stuck my head out of the window. It's a 2 story drop. I could survive I break a foot or ankle...or possibly die. I thought about my options. I then crawled out of my window and stood On the edge. Anything is better than being here with HIM. I took a deep breathe and jumped out my window. I landed in the bushes below and crawled out. I took a deep breathe and smiled. I made it. I actually made it. I slowly stood up and caught my footing. I took one glance around me and ran. I ran until I and to the nearest bus stop. I stopped there and bought a ticket for a few towns over, Los Angeles. The lady at the counter gave me a weird look, but gave me the ticket anyways. I walked over to the benches outside and waited for the bus to get there. As I sat, I noticed a man walking across the street. He was tall and lean. I couldn't see much in the dark because it cascaded over him, so that he was almost a shadow. He stopped walking and made eye contact with me. Those were the only things that I could see though the dark. Those piercing blue eyes. He starred at me when finally the bus pulled up. I turned away from him and got on the bus and sat all the way in the back. I'm sorry. I never told you about me. My name is Ashley Simmons. I'm 20 and I am.. Well was a college student. I lived with my drunk ass dad because my mom left in the middle of the night without me. He abused me and blamed me for her leaving. I obviously ran away and I will never look back. I was on the bus and got off at the 3rd stop. I got off and looked around for a reasonably priced motel. I found a cheap one for five bucks a night. Perfect. I got a room and walked in. It smelled like car piss and the wall paper was peeling. The carpet was crusty and the beds looked nasty. I grabbed my sleeping bag that I had brought with me and laid it out on the bed. I crawled in the sleeping bag and quickly fell asleep.
