"February 5th, 2023, around the afternoon. The City of Tokyo, Minato District."
A lot happened that day; it was the beginning of my misery and despair. I had no idea what I'd done to deserve such a fate.
It was my 18th birthday; I had a happy life before it: loving parents who weren't perfect, but they loved me regardless of how many mistakes they'd made and two younger siblings, a gentle-hearted brother who was only fifteen and an adoptive more youthful sister, who was merely six years old. And finally, a lover who's been my best friend beforehand. Some may call it puppy love, but it was beyond that in my sights. Ever since our relationship began when we were fifteen, I had never felt such happiness before, and all the weight I held during that time suddenly disappeared but still lingered at the back of my heart. My moments with her have been cherished; I even promised to marry her before our first anniversary and held promise rings three months into our relationship because we felt that love increasing daily, even when we were just friends."
Those that I've mentioned have been killed on that day, except for my mother, who is lying in the hospital due to an illness that's getting worse with each passing day.
March 10th, 2023, 12:45 pm, Tokyo, Atago Police Station in the Minato District.
Yunomaru Ishida, an 18-year-old male, is 5 feet and 10 inches tall. His dark brown eyes appeared emotionless, with a scar going down his right eye, but he had both eyes intact; his medium-length black hair was messy as he sat across a policewoman in an empty room with white walls and ceiling. The floor was made of wood, but it was the same colour as the rest of the room. They both sat on chairs with a table in between them; Yunomaru leaned back against the folding chair he sat on. The policewoman had long blonde hair and blue eyes and wore a blue police uniform. She took notes with a Chromebook and typed every detail Yunomaru spoke of. "I'm sorry for your loss. I've heard you've been working harder than our detectives; have you found anything that connects to the death of your lost ones?" She spoke.
On her left breast is a tag with her name on it, "Awasaka Nezu." "That's what I came here to show you; I stated that at the main desk," Yunomaru replied, reaching for the file next to Nezu's laptop containing evidence left behind of each murder. "Don't you already have your own file? Unlike the photo evidence you gathered, that file contains the physical evidence." Nezu stated, watching Yuno opening the file and claiming, "I forgot mine at home; it wouldn't have mattered either way. I think analyzing the physical evidence would be more appropriate." He pulled out a plastic bag with two bloodstained bullets inside. "We already know what type of gun: the AMT AutoMag 3. That was the easier observation, but I took my sweet time with where the murderer might've bought the firearm. So I tried to find where they sold guns around Tokyo, but I forgot it's illegal for a civilian to carry any guns. My suggestion is that the shooter might be related to the military or the police force unless something is going on in the background." As Yuno spoke, Nezu kept typing, narrowing her eyebrow while listening intently. "But the bullet that killed Hinami Shirayuki, my lover, was the same bullet that killed my brother, sister and father, the AMT AutoMag 3. The thing is, the cameras caught the killing of my family; it was a drive-by shooting while the death of Hinami was in the streets. I was an eyewitness but couldn't identify the face of the person who shot her." Yuno's face saddened upon saying that, but he kept his composure as he pulled out a photo from a security camera, revealing the blurred bodies of his deceased father and brother and the car that drove off where the gunshots came from. "The license plate of the vehicle has been identified within a week of the shootings; it does reside in Tokyo with a class code of 521. But the thing is, it's a rental due to the hiragana character on the bottom line." Yuno pointed at the "れ" character and then talked about the other details, "The license plate is also white, the lettering and numbers are green, and the four digits next to the hiragana character is 11-13. So, I ran through the data on my own since you guys are busy with other investigations, and you permitted me to do the case on my own time to see what I found."
