Many people that have met me or know me well say that I'm a very hard person to convince. Which was true because here I am in a plane currently heading to Barcelona to pursue my teaching career. I know you might think why. And yes I know teachers don't get good income. But I love being a teacher, my mom always tells me to choose passion over money. But I like a little of both money and passion. My mom was also a teacher but retired and is now living the life alongside my dad.

Now I want to become a teacher but outside of the U.S. I could barely keep up with rent in America. The pay there was horrible especially the people I worked with . Let's just say English was a very hard language to master or at least for me. I just needed a fresh start with a new environment. Somewhere I felt right and can speak properly. When I got that email that they needed a teacher to teach in Barcelona. I took it as an opportunity and as a sign to finally get the recognition I deserved. I definitely wanted to be seen as a teacher and not the teacher's assistant. So I left my life in America behind to pursue my dream.

Yeah leaving my family was hard but I'll always visit. My mom is a very understanding person. Which is one thing I love most about her. And my father he's always been there for me as well. He's always been on my side no matter what I did. I'm so lucky to have such supporting parents.

After a few hours of turbulence and crying babies. I had finally arrived to Barcelona. And my god was Barcelona beautiful. I've only ever visited here once in my life. And that was because I visited my cousin for his tournament since he played fútbol. And still does but now he plays it professionally.

Which was really cool and made him the successful cousin. Growing up my parents always compared us. They always wanted me to play fútbol to so that I could play alongside him. But I didn't because I ended up breaking my leg after my first fútbol match, so just quit after that. Even thought my parents favored him I could never be jealous of Pedro. He was my favorite cousin after all and I was his. So moving to Barcelona will not only be a new experience but also bring me closer to my favorite cousin.

The radiant sky was filled with orange and purple clouds. The air was so crisp and smelt clean. I was mesmerized by everything. All the memories of this place came back to me. As I walked towards the entrance with my luggage and bag in each hand I hailed for a taxi but failed. As one person beat me to it. Great now I have to wait, who knows how many hours for the next taxi to arrive.

After two minutes I couldn't wait any longer for a taxi so I decided to get an Uber. I set my things aside and booked one. As I sat there waiting for my Uber to arrive I admired my surroundings. And enhanced the breeze that came quickly. I could get used to this warm weather.

I was now in the back of my Uber overlooking Barcelona. The beach was filled with people playing fútbol or volleyball. That was one of my favorite things about Barcelona. Seeing people enjoying themselves and keeping the beaches clean I loved it. Especially the shops beside the beach. The shops were filled with vibrant colors and were unique. It was perfect.

I payed the man and thanked him for my ride. When he left I now stood in front of my home. Not just any home my dream home. The home I spent and sent all my deposits on. But at the end of the day it was worth every single penny.

My house was only half furnished as my cousin came in last month putting some of my things in here. I'm so lucky he put the hard things in because I can't imagine the struggle I would've gone through if I did it. Now I just hope I have nice neighbors. My last house or apartment I would say, in America was horrible. I would always get ding dong ditched by random kids or sometimes at 3 am there would be these crazy people screaming outside. So I pray I to god that my neighbors are at least normal. Fingers crossed though.
