"Sweet lotus" Douma called after you came back from that dramatic exit hours ago, it was when he asked you about why you love a certain pillar.

You scoffed at him and sigh, "Don't call me such names."

The uppermoon simply shrug his shoulders in a playful manner before sliding his way towards you, Douma had this silly grin once again to annoy you but it doesn't work today. Not when you were thinking things through while walking back home.

Home?

Your nose scrunched at the idea, how could a demon's hideout be a home for you? You couldn't help but purse your lips into a thin line, being with Douma was a pain but at the same time he gave you this sort of attention that you didn't get from others. Though the corps usually dote on you, it was because they feel the need to protect you due to how you're the weakest among them and the very emotional one.

Funny how the very emotional one should be Kanroji, but alas it was you. Because even though Mitsuri voice out her emotions often, you on the other hand despite how silent you are was someone who'd rather die than to live a life when you encounter an unfortunate fate just like now. That's a whole level of being very emotional, because you'd rather kill yourself than to suffer more.

Suffer, yeah. That's what you're trying to say, you're suffering in Douma's place.

"Are you at least hungry?" he ask in fake concern, he didn't even try to hide it. Douma was still grinning at you, as if to welcome you in another bickering with him.

"And what do you offer?" you reply with another question, the uppermoon simply smiled at you before throwing a dead goat on the floor which made you gag because of the smell.

"I hunt this down earlier just for you!"

He had a sick grin on his face now and all you could do was to try and slice his head off in which you failed once again.

Douma laughed at you, "Ah ah sweet lotus. You wouldn't want me out of your life yet."

"And why is that?" you grumbled under your breath.

"You'll see."

And with that, Douma left you alone with the dead goat still on the floor waiting for you to devour it. Your haze followed his retreating figure until he was no longer seen in the hallways.

"Weird guy."

...

"I can sense [Last Name]-chan's scent from here" Tanjiro announced in surprise.

The team was quick to run towards his direction, eyes narrowed while some of the pillars that tagged on the mission asked the poor boy a flood of questions.

His eyes were wide in panic and pressure, but he managed to make them relax first before revealing his findings.

"All of you need to know that I also smelled something unfamiliar but strong. And it's along [Last Name]-san's scent, it might be a demon's." His eyes landed on Shinobu for a moment before continuing "I'm not sure. But last time some of you saw her she was taken by an uppermoon, right?"

Those who witnessed your drastic body getting taken by an uppermoon nodded right away.

Shinazugawa knelt on the ground where Tanjiro pointed out your scent with his brows furrowed, his gaze sharp before looking at the others.

"This isn't where we last saw her" he said in a rough tone. It was like he was considering something.

The others who witnessed what happened nodded in agreement which made it even worst.

"Could it be?" Shinobu whispered.

Sanemi simply looked down as if it'll help him avoid the painfully obvious question, Tanjiro and his friends looked at each other before looking back at the wind pillar expectantly.

"It's possible that she's already turned into one of them" he finished, his eyes now blank in despair of the situation.

What was the point in looking for you anymore when you're already a demon? They should head back already and report this to Oyakata-sama as soon as possible, but there was one thing that made the white haired man stop in his tracks.

When he looked up to see his comrades' faces, he was met with another figure instead. A familiar one at that whose back was faced towards them so Sanemi couldn't accurately recognize the person, but he was sure of one thing.

"[First Name]!" Shinazugawa breathed, his eyes wide in surprise as he watch your figure disappear in the woods.

The others too looked at where he was staring and back to Shinazugawa in confusion, only to shout his name when the wind pillar sprinted his way towards the forest.

He was sure that it was you, he couldn't be mistaken.

"[First Name]! [First Name]!"

Shinazugawa's desperate calls echoed in the forest as if mocking him for even doing so, his feet picking up its pace in hopes to catch up to you. There was this determination in meeting you no matter the circumstances, may you be normal or a demon. He wanted to see you.

He wants to know if you're safe.

"Fuck it! Just show yourself [First Name]! Brat!" he yelled once more, now finally dropping down to his knees sobbing.

The others on the other hand saw his distraught state and decided to let him be for a bit before actually approaching him, it wasn't a good idea to talk to Sanemi when he's all worked up and broken. But it was a surprise to see him that way, knowing how ruthless he was towards everyone.

"Just, fucking come back already."

....

Muzan ushered Douma to stay behind from the rest of the uppermoon who went on their separate ways after the meeting was done, his red eyes stared at him coldly.

"Any details on that pet of yours?" he asked.

Douma simply grinned at his creator, "She's actually doing well these days but of course my Lord. Sweet lotus is still hostile towards me, girly couldn't trust me immediately after everything I put her through."

"Understandable" Muzan replied with a hum "Continue on checking her, I still need something from that woman."

"Oh?" Douma tilted his head in curiosity, his grin still present on his face.

"Is there something interesting with my sweet lotus?"
