Neuvillette had noticed it himself. Ever since he had broken the repetitive cycle of his daily life everything had turned eventful. The normal things that were his only things to do during the day turned into something that only made him wait for something to happen. The notification sound of his phone no longer made his heart jump in anxiety but with anticipation.
Throughout time, Wriothesley had started to send him photos of Sigewinne and he was always happy to receive them. Sigewinne had also once stolen his phone and texted with Neuvillette before Wriothesley quickly snatched it away from her and apologized with laughs. Neuvillette couldn't help but chuckle at the silliness of it all.
The bell set on the shop's door rang and a familiar sight during a certain morning showed up. The arriving man greeted Neuvillette brightly, "Good morning, Neuvillette!" Aether's hair was neatly braided as usual. He never seemed to have plans for cutting it, which also gave Neuvillette confidence with his own long hair.
"Good morning", Neuvillette smiled warmly and set his phone aside. He would have to set up a certain amount of screen time later, it had increased quite a lot lately.
Aether leaned against the counter, "You seem to be in good spirits, huh? But I don't need you to explain. A certain man has begun taking an obscene amount of pictures of Sigewinne lately and sent them to 'an acquaintance' but I'm not falling for his tricks! I can put two and two together (which is obviously 22), he sent them to you!" Aether declared this outcome with a smug pride in his smarts.
Neuvillette sighed. He had forgotten that Wriothesley and Aether know each other maybe more than he had guessed before. "Yes, he's sending pictures of her to me. She's quite adorable", Neuvillette said and now it was Aether's turn to sigh.
"Neuvillette, I'm just happy you made a new friend, really", he said and he did seem happy indeed. Neuvillette didn't quite expect this and he looked at Aether with a slight surprise. He hadn't thought much about the new relationships he had formed and now that Aether was labeling it as friendship it put a certain pressure on his heart.
Neuvillette wasn't against friendships. Friends were always a positive thing for an individual and very essential for one's growth but... You have to maintain them. Maintaining a relationship was always hard since it was not only up to your own mind but the other's too. That thought in itself set a thought running in Neuvillette's mind; They could crumble under my hands at any moment. If that relationship was without a label in his mind, he didn't have to worry about such things.
"...Yeah", Neuvillette acknowledged Aether's claim, which he beamed at. He was surprisingly put off by the fact that Aether could not read his real expression. I should set that screen time. "How has your sister been lately?" Neuvillette asked and diverted the topic.
"She's going to come back from her studies for a week or so in a few days!" Aether picked on the topic immediately and started blabbering about her sister. Neuvillette had met her once but she had moved quite far for her studies. Her and Aether's bond never seemed to waver and it was nice to finally see them back together.
"Remember to come to visit with her when the time comes", Neuvillette smiled and looked at his work schedule. He would have to start working on a commission soon.
Neuvillette gathered some of his tools and materials while Aether kept yapping in the background. Strangely, the constant noise and questions he had to answer felt quite peaceful. He let his hands do work while enjoying the sound of something other than his own thoughts. Suddenly, he paused and looked around the shop. Colors...

Neuvillette felt the warm breeze of late spring ruffle his shirt and play with his hair as he walked down a street. He saw a sign in the distance: "Rose Rosula". He made his way to the bright and colorful shop full of plants and flowers, quite striking to the eye.
