Axel's POV

"Hello, it's nice to meet you again," I said, locking eyes with her. Her lips curled into a smirk. "The pleasure's mine," she replied. It felt like we’d known each other longer than the one brief encounter we’d shared, and yet, there was this undeniable pull she had on me.

She greeted everyone else before we dove into brainstorming. "We're getting nowhere!" Mino shouted in frustration. Luca nodded in agreement.

"I've had this lyric stuck in my head, but I can't seem to get it right," Rae murmured. I nodded. "What is it, Rae?" I asked.

She hummed, "It goes like... 'Late night, call you in the late night.'" It wasn’t much, but it was a solid foundation.

I began tapping out a beat, letting it flow through my fingers as I added more to the melody. Eventually, I started writing down the lyrics, humming softly under my breath as the words and rhythm aligned.

"What are you cooking up in there, Axe?" Luca asked with a playful glint in her eye.

I smiled and shared what I had so far. "Late night,
Call you in the late night,
Trade love for one night,
Two pills and a red wine,
Talk offline, no, I don't mind,
The words that you don’t say,
No love when you hold me,
No callin' the next day, it's a one-way."

I looked up, my heart pounding a little as I awaited their reactions. "What do you think?"

"That’s amazing, Axe!" Luca grinned. Rae and Mino gave me encouraging nods, but honestly, their approval didn’t matter as much as hers did.

My eyes were fixed on her. She smirked again. "Brilliant," she said softly.

I felt a rush of heat flood my cheeks. "I... uh... thanks," I muttered, still recovering from the effect of her praise. "I'm a bit stuck on one lyric though. It just doesn’t fit..." I trailed off, my words lost in the air as everyone shifted their attention to the lyric.

But she didn’t look away from me. Her gaze never wavered from mine, steady, intense. It sent a jolt through me, but I forced myself to focus on the task at hand.

After a while, the session wrapped up, and everyone headed out. She stayed behind, busy editing, and I lingered to help where I could.

I stretched and leaned back in my chair, feeling the fabric of my shirt stretch with the movement. When I sat back up, I caught her gaze once more. She let out a soft sigh.

"You're really beautiful," she murmured.

I froze. My heart skipped a beat, and I could feel my face burning. "Thanks," I managed to say, though my voice was a little shakier than usual.

She flashed a smile and went back to her work, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that moment.

An hour passed, and with her finishing up her edits and me running through some ideas for a new song, we decided to call it a night.

"Hey, want to grab dinner?" I asked, nervous.

She glanced at me, amusement flickering in her eyes. "Where to?" Her lips curved into a teasing smirk.

"There’s this private place I know," I said, trying to sound confident.

"Lead the way, darling," she said with that teasing tone that set my nerves on fire.

"Did you drive here?" I asked, trying to keep my cool.

She shook her head. "No."

"Good,"

---

We left the studio, and I led her to my car. I opened the door for her before rushing to the driver’s seat. The first few moments of the ride passed in silence, but then she broke it.

"Dodge Ranger, huh?" she remarked.

"Yeah, it’s my dream car," I replied, keeping my eyes on the road.

"I like when your eyes are on me. If you weren’t driving, I’d make you look at me," she said, a sultry tone in her voice.

I nearly choked on my own breath. To say I was caught off guard would be an understatement. My cheeks flushed, but thankfully, we had just arrived at our destination.

I parked the car and got out. "You're bold," I commented, my voice a little strained.

She chuckled softly.

I ran around to open her door, and she stepped out with grace. I quickly closed the door behind her and offered my hand. "Can I lead you?" I asked, nervously.

"Sure?" she said, her confusion fading into intrigue as I took her hand in mine and guided her toward the restaurant.

---

The private restaurant was breathtaking. Since I owned the place, there were no other customers, just a couple of chefs and one server who were all bound by non-disclosure agreements.

We were seated, and the server took our orders. She chose first, and I ordered the same.

"So, tell me about you, Axel," she said, her voice soft, almost hypnotic.

---

Hours seemed to melt away as we shared stories, laughing and connecting in ways I hadn't expected. Beneath her confident exterior was someone so sweet, so real. Her eyes, sparkling with curiosity and warmth, made it impossible not to get lost in them.

"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" she asked, tilting her head to study me.

I smiled, trying to hide how affected I was. "Nothing much, just thinking about dessert," I said.

She raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it, but she let it go.

After finishing our meals and enjoying dessert, we headed back to the car.

"So, is there any room for more dessert?" I teased.

"You know it," she grinned.

[Timeskip]

I parked the car at the 24-hour ice cream shop, opening the door for her. She stepped in ahead of me, and I followed. The man behind the counter seemed to recognize us immediately.

"You guys are Axel and Freya!" he exclaimed, excited yet nervous.

I smiled, "Yes, can I get a chocolate swirl, please? And for her—"

"Vanilla," she interrupted, a playful smirk on her lips as she met the guy's gaze. I shot her a look, narrowing my eyes, but she just shrugged it off.

The guy handed me our ice cream, and I took her hand, holding it tightly as I led her back to the car. She climbed in, and I slammed the door shut before taking my seat.

We drove in silence for a while, but she broke it with a question.

"What was that about?" she asked

I just stared at her, narrowing my eyes before focusing on my ice cream. She was staring at me, clearly uncomfortable now, and I hated that I’d made her lose her appetite.
