"How'd you get my number Paige? I have better things to do than talk to you."

"Dawson gave it to me. Just to let you know, I'm not going to stay away from him. You can have Braden. He's just a stupid player anyways, he's going to break your heart."

"Says the girl that's dating my brother and flirting with my friend when he leaves the room."

"Oh Olivia, you're so sweet and innocent. Don't you see that I'm not really dating Dawson? I'm just using him to get other guys jealous because I don't have a real boyfriend right now."

My hands clench into fists at my side, and I grind my teeth together.

"Look bitch, I don't know what your problem is but you better not break my brothers heart. He's really sensitive, he may not act like it but he is. I swear to God if you hurt him, you'll be sorry. Oh yeah, and stay away from Cory and Braden. They're my friends and you're toxic. I don't want you hurting them either."

"Oh please. Braden already broke my heart. I don't even like your brother...I mean he's kinda cute but not my type."

"You're awful..."

"Why's that?"

"You just use guys to get attention from other ones and you run your mouth about me to Braden calling me the slut?! You're pathetic! You disgust me!"

"Pretty girl is finally catching on!"

"I swear Paige...if you hurt my brother or any of my friends, you'll regret it."

"Like I'm so scared of you!"

"You're just an immature spoiled brat that's going to get what she deserves."

"Whatever. Tell Dawson I love him!"

After that being said, the devil hangs up the phone and it takes me all my willpower not to slam my phone against the pavement driveway. Cory senses my anger and puts a hand on my shoulder for comfort.

"What's wrong? Who was that?"

"It was Paige. She doesn't even like Dawson. She's just using him to get other guys jealous. She's gonna break his heart, Cory!"

Cory wraps his arms around me for a comforting hug and I hug him back.

"Shhh, it's okay Livvy. I'll talk to Dawson for you if you want me to."

"No, it'll just make it worse. He's really snappy about stuff like that."

"Alright, well I'm here for you okay?"

"Thanks Cory. Let's bring the potting soil over to Sandy."

Cory carries the potting soil over to Sandy in the flower bed. After he delivers the soil, he comes back out front and stands beside me.

"Wanna go inside and watch a movie or something?"

"Sure, let's go."

Cory and I go inside and go up to the room that I'm staying in. I sit down on the edge of the bed and Cory sits beside me.

"So what do you want to do?"

"I don't know, there's not that much to do here. We could watch a movie or go swimming."

"Sandy has a pool?"

"Yeah, it's outback."

"Oh that's cool! We can just watch a movie, if that's cool with you."

"That's cool with me!"

I kick back on the bed and relax, and soon after Cory lays down beside me. We scroll through the movies on Netflix and decide on Mocking Jay part 1. I crawl under the covers and Cory copies me. We put the movie on, but we mostly talk anyways because we've both already seen it.

"I can't believe I'm leaving Sandy's tomorrow already."

"Tonight's your last night here, Liv?"

"Yep. Gotta go back home tomorrow afternoon."

"So what am I supposed to do when you leave? I can't go back home."

"I don't know. Just stay here."

"But I'm gonna miss you."

"You can't go home with me, my Mom won't let it happen. She barely ever even lets me have Sammy over, let alone have a guy live with us."

"Well this sucks."

"You'll be fine, Sandy's cool!"

"Yeah she's cool, but I just really like spending time with you."

"I come visit a lot! We'll still be able to hang out, and you'll have to leave sometime anyways right?"

"Yeah. I just don't know where I'm gonna go."

"Maybe your Dad will accept you back."

"Doubt it. He's still pissed I got in the car crash."

"Well that's because you were texting! You were texting me! How do you think that makes me feel?! Awful!"

A few moments later, Cory's phone rings and he answers it.

"Hello?"

For some reason, he puts it on speaker.

"Hello Cory."

"What's up Dad?"

"Don't what's up dad me! I'm very upset with you right now!"

"Sorry Dad."

"It's going to take more than a sorry to get yourself out of this mess."

"What will it take Dad?"

"You're leaving the house."

"What do you mean?"

"You're getting put up for adoption."

Cory's face goes pale and I take his hand in mine to comfort him.

"You're kidding."

"No I'm not son. The papers have been sent in, come home and get your shit and never come back."

"Why?!"

"You know what you did. I'm not going to talk about it right now. Come get your shit when you can."

Cory hangs up the phone and throws it against the wall and the screen cracks. He starts shaking with anger and starts to cry. I grab onto him to calm him down, but he pushes me away.

"GOD DAMN IT, I'M SUCH A FUCK UP!"

"Cory, stop it! You didn't do anything wrong! The crash was an accident."

"It's not all about the crash Olivia, damn it!"

"Well, what else is it about?"

Cory looks at me with the scariest face I've ever seen in my life.

Complete blankness.

"Don't you get it? I don't fucking wanna talk about it!"

"Okay, I'm sorry. I was just trying to help."

"You can't fucking help me. No one can. So why don't you just march your prissy little ass downstairs and leave me the fuck alone?!"

I gulp and start to tear up.

"You don't mean that Cory."

"Yes I fucking do! Leave me the fuck alone."

I start to cry and I run down the stairs as fast as my feet can carry me. My eyes are clouded with tears when I get downstairs to the kitchen. Sandy is sitting at the table, but I don't even answer her when she shouts my name. I run to Braden's house as fast as I can and knock on the door until he answers.

"Olivia! What---"

Before he can even finish his question, I hug him as hard as I can and erupt into more tears.

"Cory and I got in a fight and now he said he wants me out of his life because I can't help!"

At this point, I'm a blubbering mess. Braden continues to try to comfort me, but it's no use.

"I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch."
