drowning

do you see me
as i float out to sea
bobbing up and down
as i begin to drown.

the waves salty on my tongue
just like my tears when i was young.
is this the only way
to make this my last day?

my lungs full as i sink
thankful for the lovely drink.
my numbness left me
as i go deeper into the sea.

goodbye, this is the end
look to the skies as i ascend.
away from hurt, away from pain
don't worry, i didn't die in vain.
