The Princess, The Witch, And Her Brother

I awoke to my Raven Edgar cawing 'Edgar It's too early for this.' I said as I got out of bed to see what he was cawing about. Turns out he was cawing at Sophie probably coming to pester me and Aggie. Well mostly Aggie, Sophie was a golden haired princess to the village boys.

With her green jade eyes, and peachy skin but to me she was a kind person with a kind heart. But Aggie thinks she's a nuisance I tried to wake Aggie. But she told me to go away so I did and went to greet Sophie. But before I left Edgar cawed once which usually means he wants to come with me.

I sigh and walk over to him and let him climb onto my shoulder. I then went to say good morning to my mother then I opened the door with Edgar still on my shoulder. 'Morning Sophie!' I exclaimed as I give her my closed eye smile that she loves so much. 'Morning Y/n, Is Aggie up yet?' 'I don't really know.'

I tell her she then notices Edgar on my shoulder she then pulls out a dry biscuit and says. 'Here for you and Edgar' 'Aw Thanks' I say I didn't like these type of biscuits. So when Sophie knocked on the door I quickly broke the biscuit in half. Gave one part of it to Edgar and threw the other half in the bush.

When she turned back to me I acted like I was eating the biscuit. Sophie knocked again and Aggie said 'Go Away' 'That's no way to speak to your best friend.' Sophie had cooed 'Your not my best friend' Aggie said but I knew that was not true.

In fact Sophie is the only one in Gavaldon who would talk to us. Other then that it's just me and Aggie and my mother against the world. I was brought out of my thoughts as Aggie stomped away from the door. 'That does not mean we can't be friends!' Sophie called out I then hear Reaper (Aggie's Cat) growl at Sophie.

'Aggie Reaper's growling' I said as Edgar cawed Sophie then looked back towards the door. 'I've brought biscuits' 'Real ones or ones you made?' she asks 'Fluffy and buttery, Just like the ones you love!.' Liar I thought in my head Reaper then started to hiss 'Aggie let her in' 'She'll say I will smell.' 'You don't smell' 'Then why did you say it last time.'

Reaper showed his claws and was about to attack Sophie but Aggie Stepped in front of Reaper and stopped him. 'Reaper ran out of birds' Aggie said 'I think we should all for a walk.' 'I'm still trying to figure out why your friends with me.' 'Well your funny and sweet' she tells Aggie 'And compassionate' I add on.

'So we can't go on a walk' Sophie said as Aggie walked back into the house. She started to close the door but she saw Sohpie's smile fall. 'A short one' Aggie said as we started to walk into town. Everything was a mess men were sharping swords and setting traps.

The children were made to look dirty Aggie looked at the town in disbelief. 'How can a whole town believe in fairy tales?' 'Because they're real.' Me and Sophie say at the same time making me smile. Aggie stopped walking 'You guys can't actually believe the legend is true.'

'Of course we do' I looked at Edgar who cawed in response. 'That a School Master kidnaps two children, takes them to a school where one learns Good, one learns Evil and the Gradulate into fariy tales?.' I nod as Sophie says 'Sounds about right' 'And what, prey tell, do they teach at this school exactly.' 'In the School For Good they teach boys and girls how to be good' I tell her.

'And In the School for evil they teach you how to become wicked witches and humpbacked trolls, how to lay curses and cast evil spells.' Sophie says finishing my sentence 'Evil spells? Who came up with this a four-year-old.' 'Aggie It's true the proof is the storybooks!' I exclaim 'Well I don't read fairy tales.' 'Then why is there a stack by your bed?' Sophie had questioned.

'Whose to say the books are even real? Maybe It's the booksellar's prank or the Elders trying to keep kids out of the woods. Whatever the explanation it isn't a School Master amd it isn't evil spells.' 'So who's kidnapping the children?' Sophie had asked her. 'No one every four years two idiots sneak into the woods hoping to scare their parents, only to get lost or eaten by wolves and there you have it, the legend continues.'

'That's the stupidest explanation I've ever heard' Sophie said I nod in agreement. 'I don't think I'm the only stupid one here' Aggie had said and I had a feeling that was targeted towards me and Sophie. 'Hey! I'm not stupid' I tell Aggie Sophie then blurted out 'Your just scared.' Aggie laughed 'And why would I be scared' 'Because your coming with me.'

Sophie said Aggie looked at the town square and everyone was looking at us after a few minutes of silence and staying still Aggie Finally said something 'Let's go' 'Where?' I asked her 'Away from People' Aggie had said.

It was Sun-down by the time we got to the lake. Edgar flew off my shoulders and flew into a tree while Sophie had started to collect cucumbers. Aggie had sat down next to the lake and started to light matches she does that because it helps relax her. After a few moments of uncomfortable silence Sophie started to talk.

'Why would anyone choose this over a fairy tale?' 'And who would chose to leave their family forever?.' Aggie had asked Sophie 'I would' I mumble quietly so they wouldn't hear. 'Except for me you mean' Sophie said after that we stopped talking and the silence was back. Until Sophie asked about our father 'Do you guys ever wonder where your father went?' Sophie had asked us 'We told you Sophie he left when Aggie was born' I say.

The sun was setting so I decided to head home but before I did I called for Edgar he cawed and came to me I then bid goodbye to Sophie and told Aggie that I would see her when I got home
