Beyond the Veil: Meeting Him Thanks to a Ghost's Request

Chapter 1 : My First

      What will you do if you are given a chance to see ghosts, to experience their world so you can help them to fulfill their will? Hi, I am Athena Valeriana Forgescavenge and you will witness my journey.

" Doc Val!!!!, look!!!!" Celine my friend who is also a doctor, Calls me like I'm a mile away.

"Lower your voice, what is it?" I immediately asked

"Help me....pweaseeeee, need ko na ipasa yung report ng patient or else lagot ako" I knew she needed something

" so? I can't deal with it, do it yourself it's your patient"

"But doc. Santiago torturing me, he asked me in ER for surgery" she pouted and trying to convince me and I have to deal with it

"I'll work with that surgery and you will work with the patient's report" I just left and led the surgery, it went successfully after that I went back to my own office. While fixing my table I heard footsteps thinking it was just Celine, When I turned around I saw nothing.

The second time, something kept pulling my coat and as I turned around no one was there, I thought Celine just playing with me so I just went out and decided to eat in the cafeteria. I saw Celine there eating peacefully while I was still thinking about what happened earlier, I could feel someone behind me again and I almost fainted when some hands held my shoulder and I screamed from the bottom of my lungs. I see Celine behind me laughing so hard, that could kill me from a heart attack.

" Celine you could have killed me!!!" I shouted at her but she just kept laughing while running away from me.

" you alright doc. Val?, seems like your friend playing around with you" Doc Santiago chuckled.

      Then Look for Celine i just went back to my office and continued cleaning, when suddenly someone pulled my coat again, i kept calling Celine's name since it was only her who would do that, but I was wrong. When I turned around I saw no one..... I screamed out loud again when someone pulled again and I looked at it, I saw a kid, with bruised arms, blood on his head, I fainted and the last thing I heard was Celine's voice calling my name.

"Athena?Athena? you alright? ano ba nangyari sayo?" Seeing her worried about me makes me smile, that's why she's my friend, she's always there for me

"I'm fine I just saw something strange I guess"

" Can you leave us alone here i want to talk to her" I asked the other nurses, i wanted to tell her about my ability to come back

" What is-"

"I saw a ghost." I cut off what she was about to say and directly told her about what I saw.

"A GHOST?!?!?!?!??! you mean spi---" I covered her mouth until she chilled back.

" yeah, it came back I thought my ability was gone alrea --- Kyaaaaaa!!!!" I did not finish when a kid popped out of nowhere

"Hihihi bo!" that kid getting on my nerves

" oh, that spirit? I've been seeing him but he did not approach me even though I talked to him" Oh yeah we have the same ability that's why we became close in the first place. Celine just went out since she doesn't want to be part of my helping thing.

" Hey~~, what is your name little ghost? I can help you to do your unfinished business here" I approach this little young ghost and let him know that I'm willing to help him.

"I'm lost, I can't find my mom, can you help me?"

"did you know that you are dead already?" I asked him, maybe he didn't know about him being dead.

"yeah~, but why did Mom leave me she promised that she wouldn't leave me behind" Seeing him seem so down made me realize that ghosts really can create emotions even though they are dead already.

"why are you looking for her? Have you seen any light that's been calling you or not?" some ghosts choose to go to the light instead of roaming around unless they need something.

"my mom...she's sick just like I am, she has a tumor too. She does not want anyone to know about it but I do, since the day I died and my soul left my body I saw her and followed her to the doctor. I thought she would ask about my death but they were talking about her tumor....a tumor that killed me"

" I can help you if you let me, tell me everything you want and you need" Sacrificing my peaceful life for this lost spirit is my choice and this will be The First spirit that I will help after many years.

"tell everyone about her condition, and I will be in peace. Please doc.Pretty"

"Alright,,,, hmm let me see what I can do, but I need your help... I need more information about her" This is hard for me, I need to work while helping a lost spirit. I need a long rest after this for sure

After a long wait, the young ghost showed up already gathered all the info about her mother and her doctor. Luckily! it was doc maxine, easy for me to finish and fulfill this boy's last wish, I successfully sent the information about his mother's condition to all their loved ones. I expected her to come to my office and confront me.

"Are you out of your mind?!?! They've been confronting me as to why I did not tell them, do you even know how it will affect me?"

" My hospital already lost many patients with conditions like yours, i dont want any one died because of it" I tried to talk to her.

"Lost? Exactly! i want to die because this tumor killed my son.. If i died im able to be with him again! So take back what you told them!!" 

"Really?? Do you even know why i did that?, Im the one who suppose to operate your son but i was too busy so i asked doc. maxine to handle it. That is the reason why i tell them the truth, i dont want to make the same mistake twice!!!" I cant help my self and burst out. I also lost one of my friend because or this tumor

"You are the reason why he died??!"

"No. He actually did not die immediately, he still woke up and talk then suddenly flatline." I started to calm down so i can state what really happened

" Then what is your problem?!? if you are not the reason why he died then why you want to keep me alive?, why you want me to take a treatment?!"

"All I want is to fulfill your son's last wish before he leaves and goes" I looked at her and smiled while her son, Jacob watched us

"You know nothing about him, you know nothing-!!"

"yes, I do. I have his last letter before he died!" I went to the drawer and pulled out the paper.

      "That's his penmanship, right? I witnessed how he wrote those words" After formally talking to her, it went well and if you wondering how I have his letter..., I let him use my body to write it, the way he wrote before he died.

          She took treatment for her condition and before Jacob left he thanked me for helping him and in exchange, he helped me to figure out what is the problem with my almost 2 years in a coma patient, helping a ghost like him would be my last and The First...I thought.
