Katsuki sat in the dimly lit bedroom, his head bowed as he absentmindedly rubbed his own tail. The sound of footsteps echoed from outside, causing his ears to perk up. In a rush, he sprang to his feet and pressed himself into the corner, desperate to avoid the prince's gaze.
Prince Izuku sauntered into the room, a sly grin spreading across his face. "There you are, Kacchan! Did you sleep well?" he inquired, casually slipping something into his pocket. "I was worried you might try to make a run for it again. I really didn’t want to have to take your other ear." He settled down on the floor, his demeanor deceptively calm. "Come here, don’t be scared. If you behave this time, I promise I won’t hurt you." His head tilted slightly, his green eyes glinting with a sinister light. Bakugou growled softly, shaking his head defiantly.
Midoriya rose from the floor, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Oh, trying to make me look foolish, are we?" he laughed, producing a dog whistle and blowing into it. Katsuki yelped, his ear twitching in agony. He collapsed to the ground, clawing at the wall in a frenzy, paint peeling beneath his desperate grip as he scratched at the carpet. Breathing heavily, the ringing in his ear was unbearable. Izuku's laughter echoed in the room as he finally ceased blowing the whistle. "How was that? Ready to listen now?!" he taunted, tossing the whistle aside and striding over to Bakugou. Grabbing a handful of his blonde hair, he yanked him up to meet his gaze. "You’re going to follow me, and if you even think about running away, I’ll end you. Understand?" He flashed a mockingly innocent smile before releasing him and standing tall. "Let’s move; I have something to test on you."
As he exited the room, he watched Katsuki struggle to his feet and stumble after him. Izuku’s smirk widened as he led the way to a stark white room. "Alright, take a seat in that chair for me," he instructed, pointing. Katsuki nodded, limping toward it, and sank into the chair, his eyes fixed on the cold tiled floor. Midoriya approached, lifting his chin with a firm hand. "Alright, just a little pinch," he declared, brandishing a knife and slicing off his other ear. Bakugou growled in agony, sinking his teeth into Deku's arm. Izuku yelped in surprise, but at least the deed was done. "Damn mutts!" he shouted, slapping Katsuki across the face and pinning him to the ground. Bakugou hissed, shoving him against the wall before he could land another blow. "Foolish... foolish humans! Go to hell!" he snarled, scrambling to his feet and bolting out of the room.
Izuku cradled his face, a deep, bleeding gash marring the left side of his features...
The figure known as the last human moved stealthily through the forest, the crisp leaves crackling beneath his boots. The boy huddled deeper into his cloak, muttering complaints as he navigated the dense woods. His sharp red eyes scanned the surroundings, giving him an almost lupine appearance. Despite being the sole survivor of his kind, he remained vigilant, his sword securely fastened at his side, ever watchful of the world around him. However, in his intense focus on the environment, he stumbled over a gnarled root, twisting his ankle painfully.
"Dammit!" he exclaimed, tilting his head back in frustration, breath coming in quick gasps. "Ow... ow..." He bit down on his lip, his body shaking with the sudden pain. "Curse this forest... I despise it..." he muttered softly, but his words caught in his throat when he heard a heavy, ominous breathing nearby. It couldn’t be...
He cautiously turned his head and caught sight of a massive crimson eye peering through the trees. His heart raced, and he instinctively ducked beneath his red cape. "I’m not going to die... I refuse to die... Haha..." he gasped, daring to peek out again, only to find the eye had vanished. A wave of relief washed over him as he sat up straight. He removed his boot and rested his foot on a soft mound of leaves. "Great... How am I supposed to walk now? I’ll be limping around like those ridiculous wolves," he muttered, scanning the area for something to support his injured ankle.
