Ms. Payne walked down the long, winding hallway to her classroom, sipping a cup of coffee. She had binged watch the entire One-Piece anime the night before, so coffee was her lifesaver at the moment. She untangled her keys from her pocket, sliding them into the lock before setting her stuff down in her dark classroom.

The school seemed oddly quiet for some reason. There was of course, the usual footsteps of staff members preparing for another school day, and the usual shuffling of paperwork. But it was different this time. There was something... missing. Heels that clicked and clacked on the shiny floors, the brief chatter about books and the missing pencil crisis, or even the random drop of a marker or two were all... gone. Just as Ms. Payne was about to piece together why it was so quiet, Mr. Suddath poked his head through the crack of her door.

"Hey, have you seen Sallee today? She's usually here by now."

Ms. Payne had a lightbulb light up in her head. Ms. Sallee wasn't here today- that must be why the school was so quiet.

"No, I haven't gotten a call-in either." Ms. Payne walked behind her desk, sitting down in her chair. "Do you think everything's alright?"

"Yeah- I'm just a bit worried. I mean, she didn't answer any of Sudiswa's calls either. They're like- practically best friends aren't they?" Mr. Suddath asked quizzically. He knew everything was probably alright, but he had to be sure. Something tugged in his heart, begging him to make sure even though the likelihood of Ms. Sallee simply being late was the most probable. Before he could get lost in his thoughts again, Ms. Payne answered.

"Yeah, but she always forgets to plug in her phone before she heads to bed." she giggled, placing down her Starbucks cup. "She's always asking to borrow your chargers, remember?"

A sense of relief washed over him, remembering each time Sallee borrowed (stole) his phone chargers in the mornings. "Eh, yeah, you're right," his voice got a bit more light-hearted, his joking-science-teacher mood finally setting in now that the danger of Ms. Sallee possibly being in trouble was done with. "Thanks!" he called out as he walked away, back to his classroom.

But right when he was about to step in, the light abruptly turned off. His beloved, stickered science room turned pitch black in a matter of seconds. He quickly got out of his stunned state, reaching the light switch and flipping it back on. As soon as he did so, a figure of a woman ran out, giggling and laughing down the hall. He looked out, seeing that it was... Ms. McKay?

"What the-"

He turned back into his room, the whole room covered
