Note: Pretend the news report says Good Morning Florida. Enjoy!
Another Note: I do not own the majority of these characters and storyline. The Walking Dead Franchise owns their own TV show and Comic books. Credit is given to them for their characters and dialogue I probably will use. However I will add my own things to the storyline and change them. There maybe some romance (emphasis on some) but no new romance I'm creating (maybe, maybe not) and if I do it definitely will not be the focus of this story. On to the chapter!
I woke up to the annoying sound of my sisters' alarm clock in the next room. I groaned tumbling out of my bed to get in the bathroom before she did. I did my usual morning bathroom routine which took only about half an hour and walked into my bedroom."Come downstairs for breakfast Riley!" My mother called up the stairs.
"I need to finish getting dressed!" I called back down.
"Well hurry up or I'm going to eat your food!"Cameron, my brother called. I rolled my eyes pulling on a tee shirt and shorts paired with sneakers. Sliding down the banister I walk into the kitchen.
"Cameron! I told you stop doing that! Now your sister is!" My mother yelled. Cameron just grinned.
"Morning Mom, Cameron. Did dad leave already?" I questioned.
"I'm right here" he responded. "Can you turn on the weather channel?" I walked over to the TV flipping it to channel 9.
"Good Morning Florida! Hope you got your flu shot. Reports in five states that there is a strange virus going around, so if your not feeling well go home and take care of yourself. Back to Steven with the weather report."
"That's odd I wonder why they said you should have the flu shot if they don't know about the virus" Cameron muttered to himself but we all heard. He opened his mouth if he was about to say more but the news reporter, Steven Clockedile cuts him off.
"Thank you Greg. It's a very rainy day in Florida, particularly in Orlando. So make sure you leave with your umbrellas this morning. The rain will start getting a lot heavier tonight and there will be possible flood warnings in certain areas. Ending with a thunderstorm around 11p.m and a light drizzle in the morning. Again don't forget to bring that umbrella." Clockedile finished. I sighed looking down at my shorts. I go back upstairs changing to a longer pair of jeans. I then walk to my sister's room starting to tell her to do the same, stopping when I hear her on the phone with her friend presumably Francis, her best friend.
"Grace" I whispered. She looked up. "Change into long pants there is going to be a storm."
"Riley, Grace come downstairs" my dad yelled.
"What were you and Francis talking about?" I question as we walked down the staircase.
"About the volleyball game being canceled because of the rain" she frowned "I really wanted to play" she continued.
"Don't worry your little head about" I say ruffling her hair. "When you get to play your going to destroy the other team!" I smiled. We walked into the living room where my mom and dad stood.
"I'm worried about the storm. I think you guys are going to stay home from school today. We need to get the boxes from the basement into the attic before the rain starts getting heavy. Plus you know kids that actually are sick are going to come to school anyway, so you can avoid it for a day." Mom explained.
"Yay no school!" Grace shouted.
"Don't think your going to get out of doing homework young lady. Your going to call your friends after school and ask your friends for your assignments" Dad scolded " All three of you." We all groaned and complained but eventually agreed.
"Alright then let's get started" I announced and we all descended down the stairs into the basement.
