December 2023

If you had told Taylor a year ago that she'd be spending a lazy afternoon she had off from tour lounging around at her boyfriend's best friend's house watching them play Grand Theft Auto while eating random snacks found shoved in the almost empty cabinets, she'd call you crazy.

Don't get her wrong, she loves being able to do nothing for the time being. With a schedule like hers, it's hard to find moments of peace and serenity.

For Taylor a year ago, it was almost never found. Still in her off and on phase with Joe, she was either with him arguing over small non important things, or alone and miserable with her thoughts. She knew she had to end it. The good times were far in between. It wasn't good for either of them.

The love she felt from him left what felt like years ago. She didn't seem like a priority to him anymore. Taylor felt shoved to the side most times, knowing that her feelings didn't matter.

Almost six years of her life felt wasted. She wanted so much more of her life- a family, to travel, go out more, try new things. She knew she wouldn't get this from Joe- the guy who could barley stand to be seen with her in public or get asked about her in the one interview he got a year. So the idea of laying around with the little time off sounded like hell to that Taylor.

But present Taylor? Oh, that's one of her favorite things to do.

Ever since Travis came into her life, it's like something shifted. She felt more at home with him, whether it was in Kansas City, LA, New York, or a random hotel at whatever city she's performing in that night. He was her home, no matter where they were. She loved going out with him. Random secluded parties, crashing SNL, cozy dinners at popup restaurants. She loved it. She loved him. But being with him also made her appreciate the quiet moments.

She wasn't used to being with someone with a busy schedule like Travis, especially mid season. With her tour going on, and him having weekly games, some requiring him to travel, there were times they wouldn't see each other for a week or two at a time. It was hard, they found out. From the beginning of their relationship, they knew what they had was serious. They weren't dating for the fun of it, or to see where it goes. They knew they had a strong connection, and both knew going into it that they would eventually want a family. They were both in it for the long haul.

Two people who had gone through long, tiring, messed up relationships, managing to find each other when they needed it the most, it truly felt like fate. They weren't going to mess it up. Deep in love, they are all each other needs. So if they had to deal with the time away and the distance, they would, no matter how difficult.

So when given a time period of their schedules not clashing, they took the opportunity to enjoy those quiet moments. With the tour being on break for a few months and Travis having games in Kansas City that had him home more than an away game, they were able to spend a lots of quality time together, making both of them giddy and act like complete teenagers. And it was evident to everyone around them.
