Cassandra turned back to the city, the whole road felt like an eternity. Dylan had given her satchel and her phone back and had warned her about their mission. Actually, he threatened her so many times she got angry and wanted to punch him in the face.

The photos she had taken in the lab were deleted and these only. She was hungry, her throat burning from not drinking water. What she was going to do tomorrow was something thrilling. She liked adventures, she had to admit. But having Dylan with her only made it worse.

She didn't trust Bella a little, but she had to try. There was a deep vow in her heart to find her mother that she'd go to infinite lengths to ensure it.

When she reached the hostel, she ate and drank. At least, now she wasn't fearful like before, that they were after her. But she was greatly nervous about that Dylan matter. When she opened her laptop, she got an email. It was from Bella. She hadn't sent information about the island at all. Cassandra only learned that they were going there with a yacht. In the yacht, there'd be swimming, diving equipment and other necessary stuff. Thankfully, Cassandra knew how to swim.

Later on, she tried to find information about that artifact Bella mentioned, but didn't find something accurate. Dylan also had also said it was a dead end. What if it was just a hoax to waste Cassandra's time? Or worse, a trap?

However, she couldn't back down now. She lay on the bed, looking at her phone. She played a game but then got bored. Simon called her then and she assured him she had taken care of the matter. She told him she was going to be out for some time and he told her to be careful and not reckless. Eventually, she fell asleep, her mind awake with dreams.

The next morning, she stirred, the pale sunlight resting on her face. It was still early 4 AM. After all, Bella had said they were going at dawn and it had to be early. Cassandra quickly got up from the bed, preparing for her journey. She brushed her teeth and her hair, putting it up into a ponytail. She wore a pair of loose pants and a grey tank top. It was hot outside and she hated to sweat.

She ate a quick breakfast, made of scrambled eggs she cooked herself. Then, she took a small bag to put inside a blue diving suit. She put inside some other clothes. But it was unnerving. How was she going to change? Oh, how she hoped to not go there with Dylan at all.

Inside the bag she put another gun. Yes, she didn't have only one gun. She stored other defense stuff as well, just in case. And of course, swimming stuff.

Her phone buzzed and she took it to see she had gotten a message.

Where are you, it read. It was probably from Dylan. She didn't reply at all. After all, she was soon going to leave. There was another message again, I don't have all day."

Cassandra checked inside her bag again if she had forgotten something, but it was alright. Then, she finally left the hostel, putting a cap on her head. The streets were quiet and empty, since it was still early. She would go to the shore on foot, since it wasn't that far anyway.

Almost half an hour later she was there. There were so many boats and yachts that she didn't know where to go. But when she saw that man's face, she recognised him and walked over there. The yacht was large, not very large, but it had it. It was white. Bella was nowhere in sight. Why would she come anyway?

Dylan was dressed in his military attire and Cassandra shoved away the thought to ask herself how he wasn't sweating. Because he seemed rigid and stern. She didn't know what to do as she approached the jet.

"Finally," Dylan muttered, showing his frustration, "let's get this crap over with."

"It's not like I forced you to come here," Cassandra said, frustrated as well.
