Kara's POV:

"Universal?!" I exclaim, struggling to suppress my aversion to the idea.

"Alex, you and Sam could have chosen anywhere for our girls trip, fully funded by me, and you settle on a theme park?" Lena raises an eyebrow in surprise.

"Arguably not even the best theme park in Orlando!" I add, unable to resist.

Alex sighs. "I knew they'd object, babe."

"Well, they'll just have to get over it. Ruby is going with some friends to Universal, and while she's in high school and can mostly take care of herself, I can't let her travel all the way to Florida alone," Sam explains.

"So you're using OUR girls trip to chaperone your nearly adult teenage daughter?" I ask incredulously.

"You did say we could pick," Alex reminds me. "Come on, Kara, you've never even been to a theme park. Considering you grew up on Krypton and have never even been given a chance to go to the happiest place on earth-"

"That's Disney World, babe," Sam corrects her.

"Same thing, and you're ruining my point. Universal is OUR pick, and that's where we're going, whether or not you or Miss Billionaire decide to attend," Alex declares.

"Miss Billionaire is the one paying for it, so I would be inclined to disagree," Lena retorts with a smirk.

"What are you doing with your other spawns anyway when you both go on this ADULT girls trip to a KIDS theme park?" I tease.

"Esme and Jack are staying with Mom because we're already taking them to Disney World this summer," Alex explains.

"So that's why our trip is to the lesser theme park," I conclude.

"You've never even been to either of them!" Alex protests.

"Okay, calm down, you two," Lena interjects. "Kara..." She looks at me with apologetic eyes. "You did tell them they could pick the destination after you've picked the last three." Lena's voice carries a playful giggle, lightening the mood.

I smile. "Okay, I guess Universal it is."

"Of course she caves once Lena says something," Alex whispers to Sam with a knowing smirk.Of course, I hear it, courtesy of my super hearing. I can't help the blush that spreads across my face. Lena doesn't seem to notice, and our girls night continues as usual, with Alex and Sam eventually deciding on Harry Potter the Sorcerer's Stone for our movie since we're going to the theme park with Harry Potter land respectively.

Alex and Sam leave about halfway through the movie, claiming they need to relieve Ruby of babysitting duty, although Lena and I both know they just want some alone time.

"Ew, trying to get that image out of my head," I mutter to myself, shuddering.

"They're terrible liars, you know," Lena remarks with a smirk.

"Yeah, they really need to work on that. Alex literally told me the little ones were with Eliza tonight because Ruby is at a friend's house," I respond.

"Good to know some of the people in our friend group are getting some," Lena comments, sipping her whiskey, nearly causing me to choke on my wine.

"Well, Rao only knows I'm getting absolutely none," I say, feeling my cheeks warm with embarrassment at my bluntness.

Lena giggles at my candidness. "I kind of can't believe we're going to Orlando for our girls trip," she says, finishing her drink.

"Well, although I don't love the destination, I can't say I'm upset about the trip. It'll be nice to spend some quality time with you," I admit.

Lena smiles at that, then glances at the clock on the wall. "Oh crap, is it 12 AM already?"

"Okay, we should both probably get some sleep then," I say, standing up to walk her out. "I'll see you in a few days. Have a good night, Lena."

"Goodnight, Kara," Lena says as she exits.

"And sweet dreams," she adds almost in a whisper, knowing I'll pick it up with my super hearing.

I chuckle, loud enough for her to hear, and turn to go to bed.

As I get ready for bed, I'm buzzing with excitement for this upcoming girls trip.

It's not like we haven't been on girls trips before. Ever since Sam and Alex started dating, they've begged Lena to sponsor a girls trip for us-a thinly veiled excuse to go on fun vacations together free of charge. But Lena embraced the idea, and it became a long-standing tradition for the four of us to take a vacation together once a year.

Well, it was a tradition until last year when I finally told Lena I was Supergirl, far too late. I cringe at the memory of my pitiful whimpering as I confessed something I should have revealed years before. It's obvious why we skipped out on last year's trip.

But somehow, even after I betrayed Lena and she hurt me in retaliation, we finally feel back to normal. Lena is my absolute best friend, and being angry and distant from her for that long was tough for me.

Now, I feel like we're closer than ever as a result. Sometimes I feel almost a need to cling to Lena in fear that I'll lose her again, and I sense the feeling is mutual, given how much time we've been spending together, much more than before I told her I was Supergirl.

We have lunch together almost every day, and I've found myself rearranging my reporter schedule just to fit in lunch with her.

As I think about this trip, a weird nervousness rises within me. I've been on many trips with Lena, but this one feels different.

Cleansed of all the lies and distrust from the past, this is the first trip with Lena where I can be completely honest with her, be completely myself. And for some reason, my heart jumps at the thought.
