Ninjago Fanfic: The Lightning Serpentine

Chapter 31

Just like old timesss.

The Ninja cheered as they soared through the sky on their Ultra dragon and Lloyd's golden mech flying beside them. "I see NInjago! We're not far away!" Kai exclaimed. Kai pointed to "Ninjago". It was filled with light purple-ly smoke things. "Oh, you sure that's Ninjago?" Cole asked.

Lloyd started to dive down to the corrupted city and the Ninja followed his lead. "What is that thing?" Kai asked. The red ninja was looking at a tower that seemed like the center of the corruption, a big, black building. "Garmatron." Wu replied. "It's turned into a fortress?" Misako asked.

"But where's the Overlord?" Dr. Julien asked. Lloyd dove down again with Ultra behind him. Soon, the Ninja landed.

Kai, Cole, and Jay peeked from a wall. The former citizens looked like Nya, but they acted like they were zombies, just walking around the place with no purpose and no expression. "He's turned everyone evil." Kai said.

"Oh, just like Nya!" Jay said, immediately forming an almost impossible idea. Could he possibly...? "And now they're helping his cause." Cole said. The three hid back behind the wall. "I can't wait to see the look on the overlord's face when he gets a load of us." Cole said.

Right after that statement, Dragon Overlord roared as a big dark purple ball of smoke flew near the Ninja. "Oh. My. Serpentine." Jay said with horror. "Oh sweet mother may I."

"Look out, Jay!" Kai shouted. The evil smokey ball landed right in front of the Ninja as the ground turned black. "Is that the look you were hoping for?" Zane asked. "Zane— no." Jay said. "The metamorphosis is complete. The Overlord's changed into his original form." Misako looked up at Dragon Overlord.

"But we can't fly up there." Cole pointed out. "We have my father's Golden Mech. We have to draw their fire to help Lloyd use the mech against the Overlord." Wu said. "We hear you loud and clear." Cole said.

The next scene, they were on Ultra. "Everyone, hold on tight!" Cole called. The Ultra dragon flew towards the building. "Wait." Kozu said to his warriors. The Ninja were closer and closer. "Wait." The general said again. The Stone Army's cannons were loaded, Ultra was still closing in.

"Wait." Kozu kept saying. Finally, he pointed one of his swords to the Ninja. "Now!" Tons of fire balls flew to the Ninja. "Ahhhhhhhh!" They yelled. "Look out, Sensei!" Cole yelled, since Wu was steering their dragon. Ultra spinned and dodged the fire.

They flew downwards. The warriors on the ground shot their crossbows that had fire at the tips of the arrows. "Pull up. Quick! Pull up!" Kai shouted as the arrows barely missed them. "The Stone Army is protecting their master. They will never let Lloyd get close." Misako informed. "Then we need to get close." Wu replied.

In front of Dareth's dojo, Lloyd walked on his golden mech. "Yeah. I knew they'd be back." Dareth said. After a few steps, Lloyd began to pick up his pace and started running. He pulled out a golden sword from the mech. "Time to bring out the big buttons." He said, swinging the sword and breaking through a part of the army's rock wall.

The Stone Warriors turned around and growled. They charged. Lloyd striked his giant golden sword that hit the charging warriors. "Ninja–" He started. "Ahh!" The mech's right arm was shot down by some purple laser.

Corrupted Nya shot more and more purple lasers. She was halfway on the tower that was supposed to be Garmatron. Lloyd fell in the Golden Mech. "He's been hit." Wu said. "We need to protect him." said Misako.

With the warriors still charging, Lloyd climbed out of the mech. The Stone Army had him. "Ninja-go!" The original four jumped down with their elemental blades activated. "Ah– I'm okay." Lloyd said. "Yeah. But are we?" Jay said.

A giant horn sounded. Dragon Overlord spewed a ball of evil purple smoke to the Ninja's direction. "Ice!" Zane yelled, creating an arch of ice to block the attack. "Good job, Zane!" Jay called. Nya shot the arch of ice again and again until it broke down.

"Fire!" Kai shot fire at where Nya was about to shoot purple lasers. The power of the purple lasers and Kai's fire collided and sent a little explosion. Nya growled and moved a bit upwards. The Stone Army continued to charge, the Ninja had to stand on the Golden Mech.

"I know we've alwayssss drawn a crowd, but thisss iss ridiculoussssss." Jay ssssaid. "How can you be making jokes at a time like this?" Kai asked, swinging his blade. "Hey, if I'm going down, might as well go down laughing." Jay replied.

"If this is how we're going to go down, I am proud to be fighting alongside my brothers." Zane said. "Hear, hear." said Cole.

The Ultra Dragon landed on a roof. "We need to go back and save them." Wu said. "There are too many." Misako said. "Look." Misako, Wu, and Julien looked up to Dragon Overlord. "His helmet must have fallen off during his transformation." She observed.

"What does that matter?" Dr. Julien asked. "He who wears the helmet, controls the army." Misako said. "What?" Wu asked. "It was written in the scroll." Misako said with a realizing tone. "What if the helmet is more than just the key to the clock? What if the helmet is the reason Garmadon was able to control the Stone Army in the first place?" She asked.

"If we can get that helmet, we could stop the army." She concluded. "What are we waiting for?" Julien questioned. Ultra flew off to retrieve the helmet.
