Saturday night rolled around and everyone was dressing to the nines for the gala. Kara and Lena were busy applying makeup before getting into their outfits. Kara decided to wear Lena's suggestion of a suit that would show her as a power the new incoming CEO. A few minutes later they were dressed and heading out to the waiting car. "Are you ready for this?" Lena asked. "Yes..and a little nervous." Kara replied.

Paparazzi was waiting outside the hotel when the suv pulled up. Their driver held open the door as Kara got out first extending her hand to Lena. Pictures were snapped as they walked into the building together. "Ah there here!" Cat Grant exclaimed happily. "Hello Miss Grant!" Kara said greeting her. "Don't you two look absolutely stunning!" Cat gushed. "Thanks...we're gonna go mingle for a bit before speech time." Lena replied pulling Kara away. "Thanks for that darling." Kara replied as they walked around the room. "You're welcome! Now let's get some food before you make your speech." Lena replied.

The couple went around mingling with everyone before rejoining a table with Eliza, Sam and Alex. "All done mingling?" Eliza asked. "Yes for now..." Kara replied. "What's next?" Eliza asked. "I think it's speech time..." Lena replied as they heard the sound of someone walking to the podium.

"Good evening everyone! For those of you who don't know me...I'm Cat Grant. CEO and editor in chief of Cat Co Media. I'd like to thank everyone for coming tonight and remind you to donate to the many charities here tonight. Now... as some as you may know I've been pondering about taking a long term sabbatical from my business. Now I know what everyone is thinking. 'Who's gonna be my replacement?' Well I'm here to tell you that I've thought about that too. Over the past few years this person has been an essential member of my staff. She's grown from my assistant, to a Pulitzer winning reporter. And now she's gonna be the new CEO of Cat Co Media. I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be able to take the media company into a bright future! Please help me welcome and congratulate Kara Danvers!" Cat finished her speech as clapping erupted throughout the room. Kara was ushered to the podium to make her speech. Cat quickly gave her a hug before stepping down.

"Hello everyone! Thank you Miss Grant for this new opportunity! I promise to do my best to make you proud. Now I'd like to thank my adoptive mother who pushed me to peruse my dreams for without Eliza Danvers I wouldn't be standing here today. Secondly I'd like to thank my adoptive sister Alex, you were always my biggest supporter thank you Al. Lastly I need to give a big thanks to my wonderful girlfriend Lena Luthor for being my personal cheerleader in all this craziness. Without you I'd probably be making this speech in a gown. Thank you Lee! I love you!" Kara finished her speech as everyone cheered and clapped as Kara came down off the stage she was engulfed in a powerful hug by Eliza. "I'm so proud of you Kara!" She whispered. "Thank you mom..." Kara replied with a smile. Next to get the hug was Alex. "Congratulations Kara! I knew you could do it!" She said. "Thanks Al..." Kara replied. After Alex was Sam who hugged the blonde tight whispering a congratulations before moving out of the way for Lena to pull her into a hug.

After things settled down the dancing began which gave Lena a chance to sneak Kara off to the roof. "Where are we going Lee?" Kara asked. "To the roof...do you trust me?" Lena asked. "Of course I do." Kara replied. "Then put this on please.." Lena said handing her a blindfold. Kara slipped the blindfold over her eyes and allowed Lena to walk her up to the roof. A few minutes later Lena stopped Kara telling her to stand still for a moment. Kara waited patiently for Lena to tell her take the blindfold off.

"Ok Kara! Take it off!" Lena called out. Slowly Kara took it off and the sight before he made tears come to her eyes instantly. There was a small table with food on it, with rose petals leading to where Lena was on one knee with an open ring box in her hands. Suddenly music began playing 'Just wanna be yours' over bluetooth speakers. "Kara Danvers...I love you so much. There's no one else for me in this world. I love you with my whole heart will you marry me?" Lena asked. Kara wiped a way a tear before she began nodding vigorously. "Yes...!" Kara squealed happily. Lena stood up and walked over to her and put the ring on her finger before kissing her just as Alex, Sam and Eliza came out of the roof access door taking pictures of the moment.

"I love you..." Kara whispered. "I love you too..." Lena whispered in response as they pulled apart slowly. "Congratulations!" Everyone cheered as they began popping confetti poppers at the couple. A few minutes later everyone returns downstairs again and continue the gala. Lena and Kara dance to the song that played up on the roof just a few minutes ago as news of the engagement flooded the room.
