"Come on, Shou! Don't give up, get up and try again!"

"Okay, dad!!"

Shou gathered himself from his thoughts when he saw the book.

"Do you play football, too?"

"Certainly." It was Erika who answered.

"Great!! Maybe we can train together, huh?"

"So, you always trained where you came from?"

"Yes, Erika. I can't say that I'm the best player in the world, but I love football very much. It's all thanks to my father."

"Oh, how nice." Reika smiles. "Did you know that Momoyama High School holds a football tournament every year?"

"WHAT??"

The librarian witch gives Shou a look that clearly indicates they should go outside as he is once again being noisy.

"I can't believe it, this is amazing! It's amazing!" As he walked down the corridor from the library, Shou was spinning around happily. "Just when I thought this place couldn't get any more impressive!!"

"Shou, could you calm down a bit?"

"What do I need to do to participate in the tournament???" He held Erika by the shoulders and shook him gently.

"Don't think it's that easy." As Erika said these words, a faint sadness appeared in her eyes.

"You need to be on a team." Reika replied at Shou's questioning look.

"That's fine, how else would we play otherwise?"

"You're not understanding, are you?" Erika sighed and sat down. “Do you really think any team would want a human player?”

"Why not?"

"No offense Shou, but that's not how it works."

"So be it.." Shou thought for a short while, "Even if I'm not wanted into teams just because I'm a human... so why aren't you on a team?"

"They don't even want their own race." Her words were as sharp as a knife. Something must have happened to hurt her.

"How come?.."

"That stupid vampire team... Even though I was faster and more agile than all of them, they refused to let me play on the team. The only reason was because I was a girl." With her words, her brick eyes burned as red as his lips that changed  it's color. "It has always been my dream to participate in the tournament, but they prevented me. In their half-dead mind, girls cannot play football."

"This is not true."

"It sure is not! But come and explain it to those feeble-mindeds. Don't think I didn't try, I had big arguments with our clan that made me ostracize just because of that. I don't care, I don't need any of them."
