A Sleepless Surrender

In the hollow of night, where shadows creep,
Lies a man adrift, in the shallows deep.
He's surrendered to the darkness, lost in its maze,
A silent witness to life's relentless craze.

Sleep eludes him, a distant memory now,
As he wanders alone, with furrowed brow.
The weight of the world upon his weary frame,
Each breath a sigh, each moment the same.

Dreams once held close, now drift out of sight,
As he surrenders to the endless night.
No more fight left within his soul,
He's relinquished control to the dark's cruel hold.

The stars above offer no respite,
Just distant beacons in the endless night.
His spirit broken, his will resigned,
In the depths of despair, he's left confined
.

But even in this bleak, forsaken state,
A flicker of hope may yet abate.
For in the silence, in the stillness deep,
There lies the promise of a peaceful sleep.

Though the road is long, and the journey steep,
There's a chance for solace, a moment to keep.
So let him rest, in the arms of night,
And may dawn bring him the gentle light.
