Cindy and y/n was seen walking the lobby
Y/n had a blank face as he was lost in thought
Cindy side-eyed him as they walked
*Billions, worlds, a universe* y/n thought *a spider-man's sacrifice*
Y/n fought the urge to scoff, as the words of Miguel played through his head over a thousand times
And each time his brain meticulously picked and probed at every word
*why? i understand because i'm spider-man i have made an obligation to save when and who i can no matter what-*
"Y/n" cindy spoke out to him
*-so that means i can't have it all, but i never said i wanted it all, so cant i at least save the people i care about without having to worry about killing an entire fucking universe*
Y/n growled an insult to himself *stupid y/n, why cant you drop it* he sighed *i wish i never knew this, none of this*
"Y/n" she tried again to gain his attention
*it's so frustrating that i cant think straight* he thought
Y/n eyebrow furrowed in frustration, he began to breath heavily and mumble to himself through gritted teeth "if i knew being spider-man would have this much stuff destined to happen to me " he thought partially out loud in a mumbled whisper "i'd wish i was never bitten"
"Y/n!" Cindy's voiced finally broke his stupor as she yelled in his ear
He paused in his step, some other spider-people doing the same as they began to stare at the duo
Y/n looked around him, he was practically tuning out everybody around him to the point where he forgot he was even in this universe
He needed somewhere quiet to think
That's all, he just needs to think, or perhaps that's the problem itself
His thoughts betraying him
Y/n glanced towards cindy as movement began to surround them once more "yeah?" Y/n voiced
Cindy placed a hand on his shoulder as she forced him to face her, she had a earnest smile
"It's a lot to take in, right?" cindy spoke
Y/n just stared at her, Cindy noticed he didn't make a move to confirm or deny so she spoke up again
" well i know it's a lot y/n, finding the importance of following this objective-"
"Is that what this is" he slouched slightly "no, it's an ideal" he whispered violently but cindy didn't back away "and following? Who said i-"
