A knock sounded at Jagdish's door, prompting him to straighten up from his bed and answer it.
He yawned.
This shithead Kan—
Jagdish shut his mouth abruptly to find Nishita standing at the door, bearing two cups of tea. Raising an eyebrow, he couldn't help but admire the mock pout on her lips. "Tea? At this hour?" he asked.
"Well, since you're not up for beer, I thought I'd improvise. I figured tea would be a good excuse to hang out," she retorted, breezing past him into the room. "I mean, couldn't exactly bring a bottle of mineral water to a party, could I?"
Caught off guard by her sudden appearance, Jagdish was momentarily startled. Their resort booking had been hastily arranged, and while the accommodations were decent given the price, his attention was immediately drawn to the numerous whiskey bottles strewn about Chandrakant's side of the room. Grimacing at the sight of the clutter, Jagdish waved his hand towards it in a gesture of apology. "Sorry about the mess over there," he muttered, hoping to make light of the untidiness.
Nishita clicked her tongue in concern. "What's wrong with him?" she asked, noting Chandrakant's disheveled appearance for two days. "Last time I saw him, he was all sunshine and rainbows. What's happened in the past five months to turn him... well, excuse my bluntness, into a bit of a wreck?"
Jagdish shook his head, restraining himself from divulging Chandrakant's feelings for Devika. "He's been keeping to himself lately. Not entirely sure what's going on."
"What kind of friends are you guys?" Nishita exclaimed. "You should shake some sense into him! If you need help, just let me know. I can make anyone see reason with a few choice words."
With a chuckle, Jagdish raised an eyebrow at her. "So, did you drop by here in these late hours just to give me a crash course in colorful language?"
"Late hours?" Nishita's eyes widened. "Were you sleeping?" she asked, noticing the rumpled comforter on his bed.
Taking a deep breath, Jagdish nodded. "Yes."
"What?"
"I have a set routine, and I prefer to stick to it most of the time," Jagdish replied calmly, although Nishita looked at him as if he'd just confessed to believing in ancient practices like Sati.
Shaking her head in disbelief, she queried, "You never binge-watch movies or scroll through Facebook or anything like that?"
"No."
Choking on her tea, Nishita spluttered, "Do you even have a Facebook account? Well, don't tell me. Let's leave it as a mystery!"
Jagdish chuckled. "Facebook isn't a necessity."
"Well, tea isn't exactly on the 'must-have' list either, but look at us, drinking it like it's the elixir of life," she quipped, plopping down onto his bed and crossing her legs in a lotus position. "Some things are just for fun and pleasure, you know."
His cheeks instantly flushed.
Nishita choked again. "My, you do have a dirtymind, don't you?"
Feeling his cheeks grow even hotter, Jagdish silently sipped his tea.
"So, tell me more about yourself," Nishita prompted. "I mean, I don't know much about you. Your likes, dislikes..."
"I love my family," Jagdish replied with a wide smile.
Rolling her eyes, Nishita said, "That's a given. The whole world knows about it. But I'm talking about something nobody else knows. Something you've kept hidden because it's too dark."
He stared at her for long, racking his brain for something remotely scandalous from his past to share, and blurted out, "Well, when I was a kid, I once smacked Subhadra because she was being a pest, but when Maa asked, I blamed it on Krishna."
Nishita burst into laughter at his confession.
Feeling foolish for sharing such a trivial incident, Jagdish couldn't help but blush.
"You... You..." Nishita struggled to control her laughter and fell back onto his mattress, lying flat on her back. "You're just so fucking cute!"
Fuck!
Jagdish drew in a sharp breath as she reclined, her skirt riding high to expose the enticing curve of her upper thighs. It felt almost forbidden to behold her in such a state, especially amidst her infectious laughter, her voice weaving a spell like the dulcet tones of temple bells.
Nevertheless, he found himself unable to resist the temptation, his gaze tracing the contours of her flawless caramel skin, caressing every inch of her slender, yet supple figure. Slowly, his eyes wandered upwards, lingering on the gentle swell of her bosom.
Touch her...
A throaty swallow betrayed the intensity of his desire.
"Jagdish... seriously..."
His head snapped up, blinking rapidly as his heart pounded louder than her laughter.
She flipped on her stomach and looked at him, her eyes locking with his in a provocative gaze that belied the innocent facade she feigned. "You have been naughty, huh?" She whispered in a husky tone.
Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!

A/N
"Dil Ko Tumse Pyar Hua" is one of Roop Kumar Rathod's different songs, I mean his voice feels so different than most of his songs.
