Secret Chateau - 09:45am
Author's POV
Coming down the stairs, Y/N breathed deeply, taking as much oxygen as she needed, so she'd have the strength. The strength to endure the fact she'd be seeing Taehyung after the night before, and now knowing the whole truth.
She had not been capable of dealing with every thought running through her mind and that had led to her not being able to sleep all night. How was it possible that she'd been wrong for all those years? That he had not abandoned her, nor broke his promise?
He was just trying to protect her. From the beginning, along with her attempts to make him feel bad and the behaviors they had both get used to from each other: acting behind each others back, controlling each other, killing for revenge and jealously, torturing people to make one another mad. To make each other remember one another.
Her mind was at ease. She wasn't sure what was being Taehyung's father words, but she knew deeply that was the truth. She'd always thought about Hoseok as a threat, especially after he'd ran away leaving nothing behind, and that was reason why she'd planned everything with Jungkook. She'd always wanted him to come to their house, getting close to him, use him so she could finally meet Hoseok. She never knew Lukas would get in the way. She was THAT close to finally conquer something she had been planing for seven years.
'We have to work together from now on' Taehyung had told her, obviously worried. She had not seen him acting like that for a long time so she knew it was serious 'I built this place so we could hide if needed. It's very well secured, I doubt someone would ever find it. It's safe here'
'You think it's that serious? That we'll have to run away?' She asked. The cold breeze was touching her skin and making it curl.
'I'm not sure' he shook his head, looking forward 'The way my father told me to handle this... He's the most terrible person I know, but I do know he's the most worried about power. He truly thinks our duty is in danger'
She pressed her lips against each other. That was something she'd never expected, to be in danger of loosing her estate, her empire. She'd been trained to rule, to be powerful... She never expected that to be in stake.
Y/N reached the two huge doors and found both Jimin and Taehyung already sitting on the table, as they usually did, casually chatting as they had breakfast. Both of them turned their head to find her standing and then stepping on their direction.
'Morning' Jimin said with a grin. He obviously had known about their talk the night before, since happiness filled his face. She glanced at Taehyung, who kept his look on her, his usual dark and blank one, but once their gazes met, she could sense a bit of happiness on his expression too.
A small smile plastered on her lips as she sat, in front of Jimin and next to Taehyung 'Hey'
'Did you sleep well?' Jimin asked, sipping on his coffee. She nodded 'Great'
Her head lowered, her eyes on the plate ahead of her. Glancing at Taehyung, she saw how he did the same, her heart suddenly beating faster as he looked at her through his lashes.
What the hell is wrong with me? she asked herself as she stepped back to her painting room, silently through the hallway of marble. Her ballerinas didn't make much sound, as she walked, and her breath was the most audible besides the great singing of the birds outside, on that lovely summer morning. As she entered the well known room, she felt her serotonin arising, by simply glancing through the window and, for the millionth time, facing the dreadful landscape, as the bright green trees danced to the breeze, the sun hitting the grass, the sky in the brightest tone of blue.
