The sun was shining brightly on the small neighborhood street, casting a warm glow over the group of children playing tag. Laila, with her wild curly hair and fierce determination, was chasing after Isa, who was dodging and weaving around the parked cars. Hania, Laila's cousin, was sitting on the sidewalk, watching with a mixture of amusement and concern.
As Laila finally tagged Isa, he pretended to be upset, making the girls giggle. But Laila wasn't having it. "You cheated, Isa! You always cheat!"
Isa rolled his eyes. "I did not! You're just a sore loser, Laila."
Hania stood up, brushing off her shorts. "Hey, hey, no fighting. Let's take a break. I'm thirsty."
The three friends walked towards Hania's house, where her mom had set up a lemonade stand on the front porch. As they sipped their drinks, Isa and Laila continued to bicker.
"You always get your way, Isa."
"No, I don't. You're just bossy."
Hania sighed. "Guys, come on. Can't we just get along for once?"
Isa and Laila looked at each other, both of them stubbornly refusing to back down. But as they walked towards Isa's house to play video games, Laila couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement. Despite their constant fighting, she loved spending time with Isa and Hania. And who knows, maybe today would be the day they finally got along.
