Sarada works for Uzumaki security, run by Boruto Uzumaki. The only problem is that you can’t seem to get along with him. You hate each other to death. The reason he hasn’t fired you yet is because while annoying to him, you’re also his best employee. Boruto and Sarada arrive in the hotel room for a cybersecurity meeting out of town. Boruto puts down his bags and takes off his watch and cufflinks, putting them down on the nightstand next to the bed. He looks up at the bed. He notices it’s only one bed and he lets out a deep sigh, followed by a glance at her, who seems to be looking around the luxurious hotel room.

As Boruto glances at the single bed, a new tension fills the room. Sarada, still avoiding his gaze, continues inspecting the elegant space with a feigned nonchalance. She catches his reflection in the mirror and their eyes meet for a fraction of a second—long enough to feel the weight of all those unspoken words, the irritation, and maybe something more.

"So, this is how we’re starting the trip?" she murmurs, trying to sound indifferent but unable to hide a flicker of nervousness.

Boruto smirks, half-amused, half-irritated. "Believe me, I'd rather deal with anything else than sharing a room with you."

Sarada crosses her arms, mirroring his irritation but feeling an unexpected flutter in her chest as she meets his gaze. "Trust me, the feeling's mutual."

She moves toward her bag, deliberately turning her back to him. The tension in the room is thick, but there's also an undeniable pull she can’t seem to shake. She can hear Boruto settling down, the subtle rustle of his shirt as he leans back on the bed and exhales deeply. Somehow, that sound—the sound of him relaxing in this otherwise quiet space—gets under her skin more than any insult he could throw at her.

"So," Boruto breaks the silence, his tone softer now but still holding an edge. "Are we going to ignore this... arrangement or argue about it all night?"

Sarada hesitates, glancing at the single bed again, then back at him. "I don’t know. I guess I just never pictured myself stuck in a room with you BOSS"

Boruto chuckles under his breath, a slight smirk tugging at his lips. "Lucky me, then." He tilts his head, giving her an appraising look that borders on teasing. "Unless you’re afraid I might bite?"

She scoffs, rolling her eyes even as a tiny smirk forms. "Please. If anyone’s at risk here, it’s you. You shouldn't forget I'm a trained assassin.Dear Boss."

He holds her gaze for a beat, his smile fading to something a little more intense, his blue eyes softening. "Duly noted."

The rest of the evening passes with them keeping their distance, yet both are far too aware of the other’s presence. Sarada sits on the far end of the bed, scrolling through her phone and pretending not to notice when Boruto leaves the bathroom. His hair is damp, and he’s dressed in a plain t-shirt, which somehow makes him look less like her arrogant boss and more like… well, just Boruto.

As she forces herself to look away, she’s startled when he speaks up again. “You know,” he says, leaning against the dresser, “for all our fights, you’re… not the worst person I’ve had to work with.” His words are casual, but his expression is a mixture of honesty and something else she can’t quite name.

Sarada raises an eyebrow, her lips quirking up at the edges. "Wow. A compliment from Boruto Uzumaki. Should I be honored?"

He rolls his eyes but smiles, and for a moment, the tension eases, slipping into something warmer, something softer. “Don’t get used to it,” he replies, his voice gentle.

The silence stretches between them, and Sarada suddenly realizes how close they are . Her heartbeat quickens as he steps closer, and she feels the warmth radiating from him, mingling with the faint scent of his cologne.

“Look,” he says, his voice softer than she’s ever heard it, “I know we’re not… exactly friends or have any peaceful boss and employee relationship. But maybe, just for the week we stay here, we can call a truce?”

She hesitates, studying his face for any hint of insincerity, but finds none. “A truce?” she echoes, her voice barely above a whisper.

He nods, holding out his hand, and after a moment, she takes it. His grip is warm, firm, and she feels a spark travel through her, one she tries to ignore but can’t deny. He lets go a second too late, his fingers lingering against hers before he pulls back.

“Goodnight, Sarada,” he murmurs, his gaze holding hers for a second longer than necessary before he moves to his side of the bed.

As she slides under the covers, she turns her back to him, trying to calm the flurry of thoughts racing through her mind. But sleep doesn’t come easily; she’s far too aware of the faint sound of his breathing and the fact that they’re sharing the same bed.

Hours later, she stirs, surprised to feel an arm draped over her waist. Her pulse quickens, but she doesn’t move, hardly daring to breathe. She glances before her to see Boruto, eyes still closed, his face relaxed and peaceful in sleep.

For a moment, she lets herself stay there, the warmth of his arm around her strangely comforting. But then, almost as if sensing her gaze, his eyes open, and they’re both suddenly, acutely aware of each other.

Neither of them moves. They just stare at each other, the silence heavy with everything unsaid, the line between hatred and something else blurring in the soft glow of the early morning light.

Finally, Boruto breaks the silence, his voice rough with sleep. “This... probably doesn’t fall under the truce, does it?”

"No" Said Sarada.

He moves his hand releasing you from his grip. "Sorry.. didn't intend to hold you like that" He says making a little distance between them.

"Its...okay" she turns to the other side her back facing him now.
