Game over

The Run Never Ends

Kenji looked back at the other male,  rather confused on what was happening. Maybe she could trust this other? She wasn't to sure, but he was the only one she could trust for now. She ran with him, along the streets, around stores and such. They had no way around the area, but soon made it to some huge hall filled with private booths.

"In here! Then I can explain everything to you," Corvin replied, lurking around for an empty booth before pulling her inside with him.

"What the heck is this place? Why am I here! I can't remember a thing.." She whispered, her hands resting on the sides of her face. She then sat down to see a huge mirror like screen. It caught her attention almost instantly, as she grabbed a controller that was resting on the table. The screen turned on, with a live button flashing in the top left corner.

"I don't know how to explain it.. hey-! Get off of that!" Corvin whisper shouted, removing the girls hands off of the controller, the screen turning off.

"But... why? What's the harm in trying to figure out what this is?" She asked, a small tilt with her head.

"Look.. it's not safe to be here. We have to figure something else ou-"

"Ohhhh brownie, where are youuuu?"A female vocie calle dout with a giggle.

Kenji gulped instantly, unsure of what to do she ran. Corvin didn't get a moment to thiink before going after her. Kenji found an exit at the back of the building, making a grand escape from there.

Kenji took deep breaths, not sure on what to do. Her breathing turned heavy as she resting hr hand onto her chest. "C-corvin..?" She called out, looking around.

Corvin had just made it out of the door, slamming it shut and leaning onto it to keep it shut. "We don't have enough time.." He whispered, gliching as he spoke.

"Corvin... W-what's happening to you..?"

Corvin kept gliching, but it only got worse. He fell to the ground, looking up at Kenji. "I-i'm not sure.. Maybe it's because i'm not in my g-game..." He muttered coughing a few times. Kenji looked aorund the area, her heart racing.

"I can't lose you, you're the only one I can trust..!"

"Your.. Ken..- kenji right..?" Corvin muttered, as he spoke. Perhaps he couldn't function without being with his original coding. It took awhile till he stopped glitching. "Come on, i know a place we ca--"

And just like that, the door flew off of the hinges, the male who was leaning on it flying forwards as well. All Kenji could do was to duck, and so she did. She covered her head before hearing the door clutter onto the ground.

"Found her boss, over." A voice stated, a very stern one at that. It sounded almost soothing at the same time. Kenji stopped covering her head, rushing over to Corvin, pulling him away from the other. "What could you possibly want from us.." Kenji whispered, keeping Corvin close to her. "Come on breath..."

The other scoffed, walking slowly towards the two. "Aww, you're so pathetic. Now, we can do this the hard way, or the easy way. It's all up to you sweatheart,"

That woman had done something to her when she spoke. It was almost hypnotizing. Kenji shook her head, standing up ever so slightly, Corvin leaning over her shoulder. A huge gulp could be heard from her before she grinned, Corvin running in another way and so did Kenji. Where you may ask? No idea, but it seems that had a plan in mind. Corvin soon dressed like Kenji, the same shirt and pants she had on, meanwhile Kenji dressed with what Corvin had on. A black hoodie with some grey jeans.

Her hair was tucked away into the hoodie, heading towards a crowd hoping to not get caught. She looked around many many times, just to hear a yelp that sounded like Corvin. Her heart dropped, as she stopped, suddenly running towards the yells. Little did she know what would happen next...

"Wait! Hey! Don't run!!" A voice called out behind the girl. It had shooken herself up a bit, as she slowly turned to see what it was. To her surprise it was someone else? She couldn't tell who it was due to the mask covering her face. "Who.. are you?"

She asked, looking at the other figure. Kenji took her hood off, eyeing the other. It was the person who had the sniper! Her heart dropped, as she took a deep breath wanting to know if they had any information for her, or even about her. "Why'd you shot her?" She asked, reaching to take the others mask off. "Woah there, don't want you touching that alright? Now, I know you have questions and so do I, but for now let's get you to somewhere safe alright?"

Kenji moved her hand, before nodding softly. She wasn't sure if she could trust them, but chose that she could. The two went through most of the town before heading towards some abandoned building. Kenji gulped, before heading inside just to see how homey it was. It wasn't in the best condition, but it sure looked like a place to stay.

"Stay here, I'll go grab the others and introduce you to them, okay?"

Peyton watched the whole thing, before taking her back. "Woah, come on Maple, relax! We just meet her," She replied, as Maple let go of the girls face, laughing a bit. "Sorry, I just love meeting people! It's exciting-"

She added, humming softly. "Maple is a people person, Sorry about that Kenji,"

Kenji stood there for a moment, the robot just hovering behind her. She slowly moved away from the robot, scratching her head a few times. "Yeah... Uh well,-"

"Before we just let you in, let's see what kind of skills you can bring to the table." One of the guys said, his hair was white and long, it almost was past his shoulders. "Oh come on, why not just get to know her! She seems like a person with stories to tell," Maple replied, patting the girl on the shoulder.

The other guy had black hair. He stood tall, with a serious look plastered onto his face. "Kenji, correct? Let's see what you can do, yeah?" He replied, patting the womens back and bringing her over to a huge tv. The tv had many consoles to play on. Everyone grabbed a seat, and so did Kenji sitting down and holding the controller. "What game are we gonna play? Like a fighting game, or open world?"

"You'll see," He replied, booting up the game.  Once it loaded, it seemed like it was a shooting game set in the wild west. Kenji took a breath, inhaling and exhaling before looking at Kenji. "ready when you are,"

Kenji looked at the screen, before looking over to him with a soft nod.

"You got this Kenji!" Maple replied, a wide smile on her face. Kenji smiled softly, before looking to the game and pressing start. It took a few moment's of her looking at the screen before her eyes turned white once more. Her eyes had spirals in them, glowing a vibrant white.

"What the..." Daniel muttered, seeing how she looked. Kenji was now in the game, moving around as she always would. She lurked around corners before getting a gun, heading over to find were he was.

"Go Kenji go!" Maple replied, watching her screen. It was a fascinating thing to see over all, mostly for Kenji. She soon spotted out Daniel, before shooting him and getting a kill. He was now more determined to give his all, the two going at it for awhile. Kenji dove, and dived, rolling almost all over the place, the same for Daniel. With how competitive the two were, they ended in a tie with the time running out.

Kenji sat in front of the screen, almost like she was being hypnotized. She then blinked a few times before her eyes went back to normal. She took a breath, looking around to see everyone in shock.

"That was fricking awesome! How did you even do that? Can i check out your arm? I don't have one, but these two do! MAybe I could run some test and see what makes you do that? It's honestly-" Daniel cleared his through, before Maple looked at him getting quiet. "Sorry.." *She muttered rubbing the bakc of her neck. Kenji smiled, looking at Maple. "Your fine, I enjoy your exctiment, but I'm not sure... The last time someone did that, it was like a force field formed. Everyone had almost flown away from me, except for Covrin..."

She stated, trialing off. Kenji placed the controller down, messing with her sleeves. "I'm sorry... Am I not good enough to stay..? I understand that completly!-"

"You have some great power Kenji, keep working on it. I must have underated you,"
