Before Lylat began, there were two sister planets. Sarlecci and Cerinia, these two worlds were teeming with life, both a species of fox. Cerinian foxes were a uniform blue in color, but Sarlecci varied in all colors, and number of tails from 1-9. But what was unique about these two planets is the fact that they were in touch with a force known as chaos. Chaos was a living force. But could be controlled to the users will. But it wasn't this power that became the destruction of Cerinia as most people in Lylat don't understand.
It was their pride. The Sarlecci were always relaxed, calm, yet disciplined, strong and ready. But the Cerinians are another story... they placed far too much value on status, wealth and beauty. They became obsessed with rituals, clothing and finer things of life. It was the simplistic life of Sarlecci that disgusted them. And it was the homeworld they chose to live in, a junkyard planet. Sarlecci Prime was a planet covered in lakes of toxic sludge and runoff, covered with piles of junk that rivalled natural mountains.
But the Sarlecci had a natural interest in building materials, and this world was a natural place for them to settle in. After a few years of living here, the massive temples they built to honor Chaos became hubs of energy that soon caused even mountains of junk to float like balloons in the atmosphere. Even the ships carrying junk and scrap to the planet marvelled at this. Even so much at the ability of Chaos users on Sarlecci Prime to be able to use Chaos on metal, and form fully functional patchwork droids. And even the creation of a plasma blade known as a lightsaber. Although not their original creation, it was strong enough to slice through most anything. But it was when the first Aparoid invasion occurred, that Cerinians lost their hope and finally saw the error of their ways. For the guidance of the Krazoa was merely an opinion driven by fear. It was in this moment, that when the Sarlecci offered to help, they were bluntly refused. Never the less, the Cerinians were on the brink of extinction, and in one bold, swift move of war, the aparoid menace was wiped out with no casulties to the Sarlecci people.
But several thousand years later... Andross arrived, and the Cerinians begged the Sarlecci for help, but the only words they got that day
"You refused us, so we rufuse you..."
