Vows of Vermilion, A tale of Saanjh and Aarka

The Long Drive

Things were cool, soon the family had to attend the wedding of a relative so everyone was getting ready for the evening.

Aarka busy with some of his meetings insisted his parents to go first he and Saanjh will be on their way out soon after he is over with all the meeting stuff They agreed and left.

Saanjh on her way to get ready was deciding to pick a saree and suit.She was uncertain and from behind
Aarka whispered into her ears,"that Suit will go just amazing for today!"

Saanjh turned back and said," lekin Aarka it's a family event don't you think people might say I should wear a saree or something,being a newly married girl."

Aarka replied,"okay so you're saying people might want you to dress in a saree but I am concerned about what my wife wants, I feel she is more comfortable in a suit and I like her that way, confident and elegant by the way I love to see you in a saree  but I want you  to be comfortable first in this new surroundings.So, I insist, rest I will handle, Don't worry." He gave her a forehead kiss and went back to his work.

Soon both of them dressed Aarka in a black suit and Saanjh in the maroon red suit of her went off to the reception.

People in the party were an association of near and dear,everyone was delighted to see the new couple.

Aarka on being asked about his plans said,"within a week we will be off to Delhi".

Saanjh unaware of it looked at him,When Aarka turned to her he was clueless about what had happened! He looked into her eyes and figured out something was off,Everything was right on the track why she turned blue suddenly.

He asked ," what's wrong honey!"
Saanjh replied," give me a moment,don't talk to me right now plz."

Arka being confused thought "ab kya kar dia Maine yaar, okay not now I can't do anything more stupid to get her mad at me."

After the talk Aarka took her to the dinner table and asked,"Ma'am gajar ka halwa khayengi? Lekr aaun!"

Saanjh narrowed her eyes and looked at him, with this Aarka was hurried and rushed to grab a plate for her.

Arka was trying to start a conversation but Saanjh was least interested.

On their way back Aarka played her favourite song baahon mein chale aao and asked," what's wrong you are not talking to me since then."

Saanjh turned to him and asked," are we leaving in a week?" He said,"yeah! because we need to get you and your stuff shift to my place right!" 

She got annoyed," Aarka it's  not been more than 20 days since I came here leaving my everything and now as I'm in the phase of adaptation you are saying we need to move out from here also."

Aarka comfortingly responded,"I get it sweetie but soon your official leave is going to be over and I want you to have some rest before joining your office and  if we leave in a rush it will be all messed up and rough for you."

Saanjh disagreed and said,"don't you talk to me right now Mr.Aarka plz give me a break."

Aarka on this murmured to himself,"lagta hai masla kaafi serious hai,chup baith jaa beta kch der."

And was thinking"dammit man! Why I didn't ask her for once, I thought she would like it like any other normal girl.
How did I forget meri waali alag hai, ab main hi alag hun toh meri wali to obviously hogi hi, lekin what should I do now to convince her....soch kch Arka"

With this he turned the car back. Before Saanjh could ask what happened, He said,"let's not go back home today, we are going for a long drive tonight.
just you and me where you can lash out all your anger and speak to me, vent it out!"
"and we are not going home until it's all released or you have forgiven me!"

Saanjh being upset said" Arka please stop! Don't do it. I Am already fighting my emotions and can't fight with you now."

Arka replied," well you see that is the problem, you need to release everything you feel, you resist them and here they come chasing you and also I agree I should be blamed, I should have asked your plans or should have discussed it together"

Saanjh with a pause,"it's okay I am over it now, Let's get back home first."

Arka: Nope! we are not getting back until it all sorts out between us.

Saanjh: "okayyy I Am fine now.I get it. The fact that I need to shift to your place first before joining back"

Arka: Are we sorted now?Is there anything left you would like to ask me? I am here with all the answers you need to hear"

Saanjh with a gentle yes said,"I guess I am at ease with this decision now! Let's go back home now it's getting late, mom n dad must be worried"

INCOMING CALL....... MUMMY!

Arka put the phone on speaker and said "hello maa!"

Nandini asked"where are you both, are you fine what's taking so much time it's late already!'

Aarka said "yep! maa on our way we gonna reach soon. Don't worry about us, you guys can go to sleep...we'll be home soon."

Nandini ended the call saying take care

Saanjh looked at him and said" dekha pareshan kar dia na dono ko,chlo ab jldi"

Aarka with a smile said ,"ji biwi ji".
