2 weeks later

“WAKE UP LAZY BUTT!!! COME ON WE HAVE A FULL DAY AHEAD OF US!!” Lexie and Claire shouted straight into my ear.

“Uggg I’m not deaf you know” I mumbled from under the covers. In an attempt to shut out the obnoxious noise coming from the 2 girls standing in my room, I flung my pillow over my head. But of course Lexie and Claire were stronger than me, and desperate attempt at a few more minutes of sleep was ruined.

“First of all, what the hell are you talking about? I had absolutely nothing planned for today expect for a Llamas with Hats marathon in my comfy grey sweats. Second, didn’t your mother ever tell you it was rude to scream in a sleeping person’s ear?” I groaned from beneath the covers. Maybe I didn’t mention it, but I am definitely not a morning person. Especially today! I had the best lazy day planned for today, and that definitely did not involve waking up before noon, much less before sunrise! I guess it’s just my luck that they would come to crash it…

“It’s a surprise. Just get up and stop complaining! Oh and also, we picked you out an outfit to wear. Don’t worry. It looks pretty trendy if I do say so myself.” Claire said while admiring her fashion expertise that was now lying on my bed. Claire was a complete fashionista. Honestly, I think she is one of the only reasons I had a decent wardrobe to choose from each morning.

With a few more colorful words and much groaning, I finally made it out of bed and to the bathroom to get ready for my surprise. I absolutely hate surprises, and to be quite frank, I don’t understand the point of them! All they do is annoy me. I begin to think too hard about what it could be, and before I even realize it, all I can think about is the surprise which then frustrates me to no end. It’s terrible, really.

After putting on my flowery romper and brown strappy sandals, I put on a minimal amount of foundation and mascara and curled my hair. My chocolate locks are long enough that the loose curls spiraled down to the middle of my back. Once I grabbed my purse and stuffed it with the necessary lip glosses and money, I traipsed down the stairs and met the eager girls at the entrance to our flat. And yes, we are in high school and have our own flat. Since the Art School we attend is an hour away from home, our parents bought us a flat to share. Spoiled? I guess but we embrace it!

“So girls, what is so important today that you felt the need to rudely drag me out of my peaceful slumber at this ungodly hour?” I grumbled, trying not to rub the sleep out of my eyes and risk smearing my mascara.

“Weeeeeeeeeelllllll” Lex dragged out, clearly avoiding the answer. “Oh God look at the time.  Get in the car and we will tell you on the way” She exclaimed quickly, her accent thickening with each word. Her nervousness was so evident it almost made me nervous just being around her. Obviously something was up, as Lex is always nervous when she has a big task to fulfill, and judging by the smirk on Claire’s face, I could tell I was right. Something big was planned and I was going to find out what it was. Game on.

“Guys just tell me already!” I pestered for the 5 millionth time. We had driven for half an hour and so far, my mission to find out anything about the day ahead has failed. Epically, I might add. I do have to give these girls some credit for being so damn stubborn… I took a breath to begin my next rant, when all of the sudden my breathing stopped. We had arrived in a parking lot and I now knew exactly what we planned on doing. The BankUnited Center only had one thing planned for today, and it was something I swore to myself I wouldn’t do. The X- Factor Auditons.
