That nervous feeling you get when you're about to meet his family is thrilling.

My heart began to pound ten times faster than before as we pulled outside Niall's house after an hour drive from the airport.

The house wasn't big nor small, just the right size. The whole color of the house from the outside was wine colored. Almost all the other houses around it are identical. Typical.

We got out of the car and carried all our suitcases to the porch. I put my suitcase on the ground as I looked at Niall who was already staring down at me.

"You ready, babe?"

He asked me and I nodded before I deeply exhaled. I squeezed both my hands tightly together as I waited for Niall to ring the bell. We stood there for like five seconds before someone opened the door and my breath stopped.

There stood a woman, probably in her mid forties, short and blonde wearing a nice orange dress. And I exactly knew who she was. Maura.

Her eyes lit up as she saw Niall. "Niall?" Her face formed a genuine smile as she neared him and hugged him tight. She lifted her head up to look at him and cupped the side of his hand with her right hand.

"Why didn't you let us know that we were coming?" She asked. "Wanted to surprise ya, Ma." Niall smiled down at her.

She looked from Niall to me and she slightly frowned. "Who are you, dear?" She questioned me. Her face hold such a warmness and love.

"Me? I-uh I-" Her question caught me off guard and I couldn't form any proper sentence.

So much for a first impression, Skylar.

"Ma, she's Sky. My... girlfriend." Niall said while scratching the back of his neck, his face slightly turning a shade of pink.

She looked back at him, her smile widened. "Girlfriend? You managed to get yourself a pretty girlfriend?" She asked as she pulled Niall's cheek and I couldn't help but laugh at the cute sight.
