(Max's Bedroom)
~~~~~
Max stares at Erica with a surprised expression, not expecting to see her here standing in her father's office. It has been months since she last saw her, her telling that she has been busy because for the past few months they have barely been talking with each other.
"You just going to stand there and keep gawking or come give me a hug?" Erica questions. "I mean I know I'm good looking but no need to drool, Shortcake."
Max squeals with a big smile on her face as she runs to Erica and jumps up on her like a bear, her arms and legs wrapping around her, Erica laughing as she catches her and hugs her back.
"Someone is happy to see me." Erica laughs.
Sam rolls his eyes. "You both are weird."
"Don't ruin the moment, daddy." Max says with her eyes closed.
Sam rolls his eyes again. "I'll give you both time to talk." He goes over to the door, him leaving out of the office.
"Wow look at you." Max takes a moment to look at her. "Short hair suits you well."
"And long hair suits you well." Erica replies. "It's good to be talking to you, shortcake."
"It's been like how long?" Max gets down off of her. "Three months?"
"Yeah, I'm so sorry Shortcake. This past summer has just been...." Erica releases a long sigh, a stressed expression beginning to fill her face. "I'm kind of a mess."
"What's going on?" Max questions in concern.
"We've been just so busy with regular business then Mafia business then taking down all of Henry's goons which me and Lucas have been doing, but I....I'm feeling myself becoming drained out, loss of energy." She admits. "I've been kind of down honestly, I've been having a lot of bad days."
"Erica." Max goes to bring her in for a hug. "Why didn't you call then?"
"I kind of have this problem where I tell myself I can handle it myself until I can't handle it. Then I explode then realize I need help."
"You know I'm always here for you."
"I know, that's why I came here." They both pull away after a minute. "I've missed you Max. I've missed being around you, hanging out with you. You know you can always match and handle my energy."
