Chapter 1

Lexi walked to their dorm smiling, ready for this next part of their life but scared without their parents.

Lexi opened the door to the dorm and two other girls or boys who might be nonbinary or trans.

They walked into the room, putting their bag on the empty bed the two others looked up at them, smiling "welcome, are you new," she asked, "Carlos, of course, she's now they're taking the third bed when we thought no one would join our room" she said, "names Carlos, as she said, and she's Zoey weird name for a girl wouldn't you think," she said, "not at all my names Lexi I go by they/them," they said. "oh nice I'm she/he and Zoey is she/her what kind of creature are you," she asked, "I'm a fae what about you guys," they asked, "I'm a telepathic and Zoey is a gryphon warrior," he said, "I hope we can be good friends, Lexi," she said, "me too I've never been around other creatures like me" they said, "no other special kids lived around you" he asked, "no so I'm excited" they said.

Lexi laid down "I'm excited to see what classes and new people I'll meet to row it's just been my dad and me forever" they said, "what happened to your mom?" he asked, 'Carlos, that's rude" She said, "no, it's not she passed when I was only five, and now I'll be here for the rest of my school life at least I'll get to see them at Christmas and summer," they said. "I'm sorry, Lexi" he said, "It's okay I want to sleep now if that's okay" they said, "of course, goodnight for now will talk more in the morning" she said.

Lexi fell asleep for the night, waiting for the next day and the next fun adventure.

The next morning
Lexi opened their eyes, got up, looked for their uniform, and walked to the showers, getting ready for the day.

After a nice hot shower, they put on the white uniform: a white buttoned-up jacket, a red tie with whatever shirt they wanted underneath, a matching white skirt, high white socks, and black flats "Hi Lexi, ready for your first day?" she asked, "yeah, Zoey, I'm excited to see what this new school life has in store for me," they said. What's that necklace?" she asked.

They looked down at their necklace, a nice long chain with a dragon "nothing special; it's just the last thing my mom gave me she loved dragons; she always told me stories about them," they said. "Wow, that's cool I didn't think dragons still existed," she said, "they do, but not many everyone hunts them for their scales, eyes, teeth, claws, and anything they can get their hands on. " Wow, well, let's get to breakfast," she said.

Lexi grabbed their book bag walking to the cafeteria with their new roommates.

Lexi walked to the cafeteria taking a seat "Aren't you going to eat, Lexi?" he asked, "no thanks I'm not hungry there's nothing that suits my appetite" they said, "are you sure there's plenty of food the cooks make anything for all kinds of creatures" he said. "no thanks guys I'll find something later" they said, "okay you're lost don't blame me if you get hungry" he said. I'll find some food later off sight they don't have the food to satisfy a dragon.

Lexi waited for the bell to ring, but instead, the headmistress entered the hall "welcome one and all to another school year. I am the headmistress and am glad to see many new and returning students I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and will enjoy the new school year with that, please enjoy your first day; you are all dismissed," she said.

Everyone went their own way Lexi walked to find their first class; it was history on creatures.

Lexi walked but couldn't find the classroom she walked into a dark hall lighted by little light "what's a girl Ike you doing down here?" someone said.

A boy appeared, maybe a ghost or banshee "sorry I got lost; I'm new to this school," they said. "this is the ghost and shady characters' hall, so leave" he said, "can you help me find my class?" they asked, "Fine," he said.
