The stop lights flickered as he sped down the road.
Nearly hitting a pedestrian he didn't flinch.
He pulled into a small coffee shop to see his acquaintance.

He walked in and got himself a table without making eye contact with the people there, he sat at an empty table, I guess you could call it empty even though he was there, because he wasn't *really* there, was he?

His acquaintance walked over, she worked there, “Hello Ten!”, she gave him a smile like all the servers did, but hers was always different somehow..

He didn't speak, didn't even look at her, like always he just nodded.
“The regular?” She pulled up her notepad, he nodded again.

She wrote down his regular, he came here often, he only spoke the first time, she never really understood why he stopped talking after the first time, but she was okay with it, she was okay with his oddities, she liked his oddities even, he wasn't just a copy and paste of everyone else.

She nodded back at him and walked back behind the counter to tell the other workers.
“One campfire mocha for table ten.”
He always sat at table ten, it was the table she sat him at the first time he was there.
It's the name he told people, he talked but not a lot, not enough to be noticed, he did this on purpose, he didn't want people to notice him.

She brought over his drink, and smiled again, “One campfire mocha for Ten at table ten!”, she said this every time to him, she thought it was funny but wasn't sure if he did, he did, he gave a slight smile, he didn't look at her though, or did he? Did he look at her as he kept his head down? Maybe.

She had to walk over to other tables to take their drinks and clean the tables.
He sat there sipping on his drink, his colorful drink, surrounded by colorful people and things.
This wasn't his town, he thought, he considered moving again, not moving houses, just leaving, like he always did.

He looked at his acquaintance, he sighed, “Maybe a little longer.” He looked back at his drink, “This drink is too good to leave behind so soon.”
