Apollo's POV
"That's it for today", I mutter as I step off the sun chariot. I go to my chambers and sit down. I felt like writing a haiku, so I got a pen and paper, 'Another day, the truths are still at play, My sanity is still somehow at bay', I laughed at the last line.
Suddenly, I smell something and realize that someone is praying to me, I look down to the mortal world and see Amaya. I roll my eyes and go down, appearing in front of her, "Finally", she says. "What do you want Amaya, this is the 4th time you've called upon me, and it's only Wednesday", I say pretending to be annoyed. "First, you know what you got yourself into when we became friends, and second, you agreed that we would hang out today".
"I know, but I can't keep leaving Olympus", I reply as she puts out the small fire she made to call me. "When are you going to stand up for yourself and stop taking the blame?", she said with annoyance and sadness. "I don't know, and I hate taking the blame, but if I don't then the other gods will be at each other's throats and that would lead to fighting, and that leading to a war between the gods, and no one wants to deal with all that, so I take the blame to avoid all that", I explain to Amaya.
Amaya sighs, "Dude, you have LITERAL scars on you from taking the blame. You're my best friend, Apollo, I don't like seeing my friends getting hurt", she says, getting my arm and gesturing to the scars on my left arm. Some of the scars are new from last week, Amaya points to one of them, "Who did this one?". I look at the one she's pointing at, "Ares", I answer. "Why?", she asks, "He thought I was the one that took one of his swords".
Amaya puts my arm down with a sigh, "Tonight is not about those jerks, tonight is us hanging out and having fun. Now, where do you want to go?". "Why am I picking?", I ask since we usually go where Amaya suggests, "Because I want you to have fun today, now, where do you want to go?". I thought momentarily, "I'm kinda in the mood to eat something". "Can gods eat mortal food", Amaya asks, "We can, but the other gods choose not to because 'it's beneath their dignity', but I don't care either way". And with that, Amaya and I start walking through the streets of New York, looking for someplace to eat.
A few minutes later, we walked inside a small cafe (Greek cafe). We looked at the menu posted up and then ordered, Amaya ordered first, "I'll take a coffee with a shot of espresso, and a chocolate muffin". "And I'll take a small nectar honey cake and that's all", I finished ordering and we sat down. We started talking, but I started getting a strange feeling, and I guess that Amaya noticed, "You good?", she said before eating her muffin. "Oh, yeah. I just got a weird feeling, but it's nothing", I said. I don't think Amaya believed that, but she didn't ask any more questions. We finished eating, paid, and left.
We then went to the park, "Wanna race", Amaya asked when we got there, "Sure, but don't be sad if I win, again". She rolled her eyes and we got in a running stance, we started running across the park, and to no one's surprise, I won.
We sat down on a bench, "I told you I'd win Amaya". She playfully punches me, "Just wait, I'll beat you one day".
