Begin Again

Twelve

"Eomma, I'm going to hang out with Tae for a while. I'll be back in a couple of hours."

Jin's mother comes running into the room wiping her hands dry with a dish towel. Smiling widely.

"Oh? That's becoming a nice habit now. How are things going with you two?"

Jin laughs and says, "Eomma, you will always be Tae's biggest supporter won't you? Things are going fine. We're just hanging out and having fun. We don't need any labels."

"Hmph.. but I do." She mumbles.

"What was that?" He asks.

"Nothing.. have fun."

"Hmm.. don't worry. I will."

Jin then walks down the street to Tae's house. When he gets there he can hear a familiar laugh coming from the back yard. He walks around the house and finds Jimin sitting next to Namjoon as they're grilling some meat on the grill.

He walks closer as he hears the back door open and Tae walks out carrying more food.

"Hey! You made it. I wondered if you would." Jimin yells out.

When Jin reaches Tae they give each other a chaste kiss. Tae then smiles brightly. "I'm glad you came."

They all fall into a comfortable conversation while enjoying the moment.

Back at Jin's mother's house, she is getting some cookies out of the oven that she baked for Su-min. She calls out for her and just as she comes downstairs to answer her halmeoni, she suddenly hears someone knocking.

She hears her halmeoni say, "Hold on! I'll get it." Not wanting her to answer the door to a stranger.

But Su-min can see her papa through the glass in the door and happily yells out, "It's papa! Papa!"

She runs to open the door and is devastated to see him with his arm around the woman he left her Appa for.

"Hey sweetheart. It's so good to see you." Jungkook tells her.

Jin's mother comes behind her and says, "Oh, it's you. What could you possibly want? And how dare you bring that witch to my house. Have you no decency left? Obviously not. What the hell do you want?"

Jungkook clears his throat and whispers to his girlfriend, "Please wait in the car. I will be out as soon as I get the papers signed."

"No way. I want to be here to make sure they get signed. So we can leave and never have to deal with these.. problems again."

"Oh.. so that's why you're here. You've brought the divorce papers then? Let me call Jin to have him come back."

"Back? Where is he?" Jungkook asks while looking around.

Jin's mother angrily tells him, "That's none of your concern anymore."

She goes back inside to dial Jin's number. Jungkook takes the opportunity to walk inside with his girlfriend following.

She looks down at Su-min and rolls her eyes when she finds her glaring at her.

"Su-min sweetheart. I want you to meet Ji-hyun. She's my.. m-my..."

"Fiancée! Soon to be wife." Ji-hyun responds.

"Why is she here? What is fiancée mean?" Su-min asks.

Jungkook struggles to explain so he stutters. "Well.. it means. Ahem, she is going to be. What I mean is.. once your Appa signs the paperwork. She and I.. will get.. married.. and I guess also be y-your new stepmother."
