Chapter-98

Author's POV

Parul paid the cab driver and made her way inside the penthouse.

Surprisingly his men weren't there. She didn't bother looking towards the garage. His black SUV was parked there.

She thought Shiva might not be home and it was good for her mental peace as of now.

With that thought, she walked in and was welcomed by the darkness.

Turning on the lights, she made her way to their bedroom.

The door wasn't locked and she saw him sitting on the couch. Even in the darkness, she could make out his hard expression.

His curls were dishevelled. His jaws were locked. His feet were tapping the ground in a slow rhythm.

He looked absolutely angry.

Fear crawled up her skin, forcing her to stand there, struck. After a brief minute, Shiva looked at her. He was aware of her presence yet he refused to look at her immediately.

He was playing a mind game. Relishing her fear.

As their eyes connected, she widened her eyes in pure horror.

Keeping the fear at bay, she took slow steps inside the room and turned on the lights.

Shiva's jaw twitched looking at her tired face. His sick brain suggested negative thoughts about her. He didn't want to believe it but her fear-stricken face made him believe so.

Parul placed the bag inside the closet, grabbed a night dress and sprinted towards the bathroom. His burning gaze sent goosebumps all over her body.

" You are late" he declared. His voice was deep and curt.

Parul stopped in her tracks and looked at Shiva, who was looking at her with a curt face.

She had no reason to fear him. Of course, she lied about meeting Aryan but it wasn't a crime. She knew he was angry and when he would get angry, he'd definitely hurt her. When he hurts her, she feels bad about herself and she didn't want that.

" I...I didn't get the cab..." She forced herself to answer him without stuttering.

Shiva arched his brows in surprise. He got up from the couch and took slow, predatory steps towards her. Parul was shaking inside. He was scaring her and he knew it.

" Oh..." he sang, walking in circles around her.

The extreme fear and his calm demeanour were making her dizzy.

He inspected her reaction. It felt a little overline. He had been angry before, but she never reacted like this.

In his sick mind, it was all pointing to something. That she is guilty of something.

It was enough to set his demons free.

" Didn't Aditi offer to drive you back home?" Shiva stopped walking in circles and looked at her with an arched brow. His eyes were almost black. He was trying to suppress the demons trying to control him. But was failing.

Parul's lips trembled. She should've been smart and told him the truth. But Parul being naive, shook her head in a no.

That was the last nail to his invisible patience.

His jaw twitched. He was a psycho and Parul was playing with his sanity.

He wanted to bark in her face and fuck her mercilessly for lying to him. But he didn't do it.
